High level magnetic resistance

4

High level magnetic resistance makes this a useful even for low cadence strength training. Why would you buy the Satori over the myriad of other trainers out there? For me, the main reason would be for the high level of magnetic resistance you get here – Tacx reckon you can generate 400w at 27kph (17mph).
To give that some practical context, when I set the resistance as high as it would go and shifted into the highest gear on the bike, I was struggling to turn the pedals at 35rpm. And that was with a compact chainset. If you have a standard chainset, it’ll obviously be even harder to turn the pedals. I’ve not tried any other turbo at this price that can provide anything like this level of resistance.

Easy to setup

I bought this Turbo Trainer in the Summer of 2011 and used it a lot over the Winter Months, it has held up very well, very good for the 2- 3 hours I do in it while watching recordings of Le tour or Giro,,,Very Highly Recommended, not noisy at all really.

Does the job.

Of course this isnt the greatest out there, but for me as an amateur its good. My wheel spins a little when accelerating, but maybe a dedicated rear tire will prevent that. 10 "gears" , and makes some noise, but not too much. Steady for me as a heavy rider:)

Sturdy and smooth!

So far so good. I'm tall and lean, and the Satori feels fairly rock solid when in or out of the saddle. The fly-wheel maintains that smooth (almost-road-like) feel for sustaining your off-season fitness level. Set-up is fairly straight forward as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Satori!!

Works great for training during the winter months.
10 resistance settings for variation
Not noiseless but definitely not too noisy either.
Quite fun and efficient when used with Tacx DVDs
