These panniers are excellent quality and well worth the money. I wish I had bought them earlier instead of trying to save money on cheaper ones. The clip system makes it so easy to remove and take with you, as does the shoulder strap. I look forward to using them in all weather conditions as they are weatherproof and reflective. Excellent design. Could not be happier.Report this review
These Ortlieb Back-Roller Classic Bicycle Panniers are a great - yes you do get two! The panniers come with little inserts to adapt the bags to the width of the bars on your rack. They slotted in, in a couple of moments. The main fittings are easily adjustable with an Allen key, taking a little more time to get the perfect fit to my bog standard pannier rack. I can't believe how easy they are to lift off too. It saves me loads of time doing my shopping. Simply lift and you're away (I tuck the handles in just so no-one else can do the same!). They are fabulous and the water proof roll top is simply ingenious. Each bag has its own internal zip pocket too and carry strap. I purchased the red ones. They got me noticed recently at a gathering where we were celebrating the life of a fellow, lovely cyclist friend. She would have definitely loved them, especially the colour and the price. I cannot recommend these Ortlieb Back Roller Classics, nor Probikekit's speedy delivery highly enough. They are a great buy!Report this review
I use these on the daily commute what ever the weather and these panniers have never let me down yet, well worth that little bit extra money in my opinion. I Only use one at a time though as I have found that they can hold so much stuff including the ever important laptop.Report this review
Ortlieb panniers are the best out there and Pro Bike delivered them to me within 24hrs of making the order. I will be using mine for a unsupported ride from London to Paris.Report this review
International shipping is not 5-8 days...
I quote customer service:
"estimated delivery time of 7-14 working days, however it is also stated that we must wait up to 28 working days for delivery in the longest possible cases. This can be caused by many reasons..."
Shouldn't this be clear at point of purchase before checkout so you can select expedited shipping?
A good set of panniers can be an investment that sets you up for many years of happy load hauling. Keep your eyes peeled and you'll see plenty of Ortlieb's Back Rollers on both commuters and grizzled tourists. There's a reason for their ubiquity - they're bloody good.Report this review
I took a pair of these on a two month bike tour and they were absolutely bomber. After getting the positioning of the hooks dialled in the first time, it was super easy to pop them on and off my Tubus Logo rear rack. They're completely waterproof which beats having to throw on rain covers when things start getting damp.Report this review
I love these - I've been using them daily for my commute for over a year now (sadly no touring as yet). They are fantastic. Sturdy construction, both fabric and fittings. The roll top mechanism is great - rolled properly, it keeps the wet out completely, but if you do find yourself needing to carry more than you were expecting, it also allows you to really pack the extra stuff in (though your waterproofing may not be as complete, depending on how many rolls of the top are possible). I've managed to get 6 bottles of wine into one pannier before! Reflective is also fantastic. Every other set of panniers I see in London is Ortlieb, and these days I know why.Report this review
Have had these panniers for years now and they have never ever let me down. Torrential rain, thrown about on trains, planes, cars and coaches and still not a tear or leak. Have recommended them to all my cycling friends who now in turn do the same to them. Brilliant, easy to use panniers that look good to. Worth every penny ....Report this review
I used these on a 3000km tour as well as commuting to and from work for a few years. They've served me very well with just a few holes that have easily been patched.
Their main strength is in their simplicity - there isn't much to go wrong and the one fiddly bit (the latch) is very sturdy and not a weak point.
Cant really point to any failings - if you keep them well they'll last you a few decades of hard use.
