Very intelligent design.

I own an old Rivoli chain tool and a current Park professional chain tool, both of the conventional design, and they both fall short in holding the chain securely when installing a chain pin. This makes things very difficult when your working on a ten speed Campagnolo chain with its pin insertion "pre-pin." When I saw this Tacx chain tool, it looked like a much better thought-out design and something that would work much better at holding the chain securely when inserting the pin. I was not disappointed. The Tacx works much better and gives you complete control when either joining or separating chains, even tricky ones like Campagnolo.

Nice Alternative to Park

4

I have a compact Park chain breaker, which is a nice tool, though requires a bit of "fidgeting" when adjusting the 8 speed chains on my touring bikes. The TACX is cleverly designed, has a good "feel" and is more secure and easier to use than the Park. No idea of the country of origin (probably China) as it is unlabeled on either the product or the packaging/label.

Perfect reasonably priced chain tool

This tool is great, it is far superior to the one on your multi tool. The box securely holds and chain and breaks it with ease. The box makes the tool very easy to align, and there is even room to store missing links etc..

Fast easy and great quality

Not impressed at all

I only got to use mine a few times only (4 or 5) then when I wanted to shorten a KMC chain the plastic housing broke and made it impossible for the pin to advance straight. I'm looking at Park Tools for a replacement.
