Park Tools Torque Wrench

5

I recently decided to do the right thing and get a proper torque wrench for my carbon bikes. After reading reviews on several other manufacturers products, I decided to buy the Park Tools TW-5. It was more expensive than some of the other units I looked at and does not come with any hex sockets like other kits, which would be nice, but in the end I wanted a quality tool that I could trust. One of the other manufacturers instructions called for cycling the tool if it had been unused for a long period of time to ensure correct torque values. Not sure I would ever trust that especially at these low torque specs. Tool came in nice plastic case with 3/8" adapter if you don't have 1/4" drive sockets. Operation is typical of any dial torque wrench. Haven't had the chance to use it yet other than initial out of the box fiddling. ProBikeKit had by far the best price that I could find. I was a bit hesitant to purchase out of the US but transaction was smooth and package arrived on time with free shipping. Couldn't be happier. Thanks

Robust and functional

I found this torque wrench really easy to use - a nice functional design. It also makes a very decently robust impression and should be fit for many years of use. (As I would have expected from Park Tools.)

Another great Parks Tool

Bought this to work on a carbon frame. Was easy to use and gave me confidence to tighten those bolts without squirming! Good quality and worth the price.

Simples!

Bought this as I was getting nervous tightening bolts on carbon - everyone says they know how much pressure to add, but do you really! Simple to use and, for Parks, a good price. Very happy with this one!

Essential for any carbon bike

Expensive but that is Park Tools, correctly tightening bolts on your carbon bike is now very easy (don't forget carbon paste) and when used with SBS-1 socket set, its all you ever need. Only gripe is the labels will easily come off if contaminated with oil.

Excellent Tool

I bought this Torque wrench to tighten all the different bolts on the bikes I service. Its a must to not to void warranties.

Great defense against overtightening

Finally, I was able to have my very own torque wrench. I upgraded all my bikes to more expensive carbon bars (3T) and was a bit apprehensive when I tightened the stem bolts. I always knew that I either under or over tightened. Having this tool I can now say that I wished I purchased this sooner.

This tool came with the more common hex tool sizes and it has a very simple dial. My only gripe really is the cost, but if you look, there is really not a torque wrench under 100 bucks, besides, having this tool is great with not wrecking your expensive carbon parts. Most manufacturers also engrave/etch the maximum torque you can apply on the bolts - don't void your warranty, buy a torque wrench!
