Great pedal for the money

5

I bought these for my training bike as I already owned the Time RSX Carbon pedals. I love them and can tell no difference in performance than my more expensive ones. I would buy them again.

great for the price

Great pedals, Fairly light, positive engagement and at an unbeatable price. Cleats are very durable, the cafe nubs work great.

Tension problems

you cannot adjust spring tension on these pedals...dont buy if you sprint. In slightly wet conditions my feet move past 15 degrees and I have no faith in these pedals. Pedals do feel good underfoot for normal slow riding.

This is my first upgrade from my SPDs on my road bike. I have no complaints with them at all. There is a lot of float with is good because I had some knee problems with my SPDs. The engagement is solid, although the left pedal feels like it's become stiffer. I don't take that out anyway so I'm happy. I love the fact that I'm attached to the pedal with metal and not a spring towards the rear like other pedals. This is another advantage when I have to walk on the cleats. The metal part isn't getting damaged when I walk. I might upgrade to something else, but not in the near future. I'm very happy with my RXS pedals.

An Excellent Pedal

The Time RSX First pedal has a positive engagement, adequate float, and a durable cleat. The pedal also has small lateral float, which is nice for people who want a little extra room or to be a little extra narrow.

The "cafe cleat" has two stubs at the rear end that protect the metal piece that engages the pedal. They can be awkward to walk in because they are so tall, but they do protect the cleat from damage whilst walking around.

Overall, the pedal and cleat combination have a very low profile and excellent cornering clearance.

I have had mine for years and they still perform well. Over time they engagement does get a bit sloppy, but I never pop out of the pedals, the bearings roll hassle free, and the cleats are exceptionally durable. These are great pedals that are hard to beat for such a reasonable price.

Great value pedal with top end performance - 4.5/5

The RXS pedals are cheaper versions of the more expensive Time Carbons. The big difference here is the body material just being a composite rather than carbon reinforced. This adds a little weight and takes a little strength but most people won’t notice the difference.
The rest of the performance is identical to the more expensive Carbon models. Low stack height and plenty of float are the RXS strong points and they’re a popular race pedal. The characteristic float of Time pedals is very knee friendly and makes them a good choice if you have any problems in that area. The cleat also lasts a long time and the extra tabs at the back make walking on hard floors that little bit less lethal.
