Latex Tubes

5

Fist time using these tubes, previously used whatever was cheapest. But training for a 40km time trial. Latex tubes coupled with Continental 4000 s tyres have improved my ride by 10%. I ride twice a week and have really struggled to keep up with the cyclists I ride with who get out 5 to 6 times a week. But the last two rides I have stayed with them, averaging 41 kmh for the I hour ride. Cheap way to improve your bike. Just need to get out 3 times per week. Im 105 kg,.

The Best

What can you say? I ride them all the time. Adds great reaction and compliance to my Continental 4000S tires and I've been using them for years. Once you ride latex tubes it's hard to ride anything else.

Amazing when paired with the right tire

5

I've paired these tubes with the Vittoria Open Corsas and have been very pleased with the performance. The combination feels fast and supple. One added benefit is that I have had no flats with these tubes whereas, my butyl tubes seem to need frequent repair. I'm not sure if that is due to the increased elasticity of latex or if I've just been lucky.

As others have noted, they do lose pressure quickly; however, I normally check and re-inflate my tires before every ride no matter what type of tube I use. For me, the ride and reliability of these tubes far outweigh the pressure loss issue.

Great ride quality

I purchased this product and now have it on my bike. The ride does feel much more smoother. I've only taken this to a 60 mile ride and so far have not flatted. It does however lose air about 10 to 15 psi overnight. Overall I now prefer this over butyl.

Amazing upgrade!

I didn't believe the latex hype, but took the plunge with new ultremo r1 tyres.
WOW!
They really do live up to all the hype, amazing rolling resistance; they just keep on going and going! the latex tubes are also a lot light than my old conti ones and any weight saved from your wheels is the best way to loose it!
The only downside is that they leak air pretty quickly but you should always pump up your tyres before you ride.
Overall, these are the best way to liven up your ride and make you that little bit quicker.

Amazing ride but fickle

3

This will probably mirror every other review for Latex tube but here goes.
These ride like no other tube I have tried. If someone had raved about how supple these make your tyres feel and how they appear to improve rolling resistance I would have scoffed but they really do feel amazing.
The downside is they appear to be prone to bulges due to varying wall thickness and are much harder to mount than standard rubber tubes in terms of pinching. The other downside is that they appear to be much more permiable than standard tubes and need more regular reinflation.
Finally they are not cheap - the performance comes at a premium price.
At the end of all that I would give these a go on your race day clincher wheels for the sublime ride if you are filling to accept the draw backs.
