Northwave X-Cellent Shoe Covers shield your feet from wind and water, so your feet stay dry and you can cycle in any conditions.
Made of a Polyurethane NWXlite membrane, this material offers wind protection and optimum sweat management thanks to the triple layer fabric structure. The outer layer controls heat exchange and protects from outside elements, the X-Lite membrane in the intermediate layer aids moisture dispersion for the perfect microclimate, and the soft fleece inner layer functions as thermal insulation.
The stitching of the shoecover is insulated with a taping technique, this means you can wave goodbye to any water infiltration. With BioMap construction, Northwave have created a higher design shoecover and a specific ribbed construction instep. This enhances the movement while riding, resulting in optimised performance. - A.D.

I got these for winter riding is Wisconsin. Winter riding in the upper midwest can be challenging, and last Saturday I did a 200k through lots of snow-covered streets with temperatures in the low 20s, where it feels like the snow is gabbing at your wheels slowing you down, where you have to climb in the saddle to keep your rear wheel from slipping, and where any exposed skin chaps. I only have make-shift fenders with minimal coverage on my bike, so there was snow and ice all over the drivetrain and all over my feet and lower legs, yet my feet stayed warm and dry wearing only a pair a medium weight, wool socks, my road shoes, and these shoe coveres. As an added bunus, my riding partner said that once the sun set, the reflective piping on the backs of the shoe covers was very effective. I got the size XL, and they fit my size 46 Specialized shoes a little more snugly than I would like, but all in all, this is a wonderful product. I did a ride like this a month ago without these covers and my feet nearly froze, and there was no snow on the route for that ride. Thanks. kg1
