Bright lights to light your night....
Purchased this set ready for the winter commute. I already have the 800XL and zecto max drive 250, which have proved to be excellent. I'll use the 1000XL front on constant as it gives a great spread of light once I get onto the unlit roads and the strip rear on any of the modes gets you seen from a long distance away. The battery life is very good, only needing to charge every couple of weeks, although probably a bit more frequently with winter approaching. I often leave the lights on the bike and charge both front and rear at the same time using a twin outlet charging pack. Build quality seems excellent and I've had no problems at all. A great set of lights and excellent value for money.
I’ve used these lights for 2 years now, plus I’ve had a second rear light of the same model but previous generation for about 5 years. They are superb choices for most cyclists wanting to be seen on the roadway. Drivers have more time to accommodate you when they are alerted a long way out. Riding in full daylight requires very bright lights to be seen effectively. These Lezynes fit the bill. The headlight is bright enough to illuminate the trail or road in the dark. It’s enough to get you home perfectly well after the sun goes down. If I was night riding a lot more I would upgrade to something better suited for that job. Flashing on high for 4 hours is no problem for the rear. I use the front more sparingly though I’m really impressed with how it holds a charge for many weeks at a time. I like how they both return to my previous setting each time I turn them back on. There are too many modes to be practically applied. The rear is great for putting on your seat stay or seat post. Because the unit is a little longer it doesn’t fit into tight spots as well as miniature lights. The headlight stays put on my handlebar reasonably well and doesn’t take up much real estate there. Having owned several generations and evolutions of the Lezyne lights I can say that the weak links are the straps. These new ones perform and endure a lot better but I would still seek out spare straps to have on hand just in case. That said, I’ve had no problems with these new models. I’ll just also mention that I’ve used these in the rain a fair bit and experienced no issues whatsoever.
