I really wanted this case to protect my new Pinarello when taking it on the plane. I had a soft-sided case (Bikind) with inflatable side panels but ended with damage to my bike when one of the panels deflated during transit. This case was much easier to pack and required much less dis-mantling of my bike. So packing and unpacking were much faster. I felt more confident that my bike would be undamaged and that the TSA would be able to carry out their inspection without re-arranging things poorly. My first shipment went very well. I have several more upcoming trips and I look forward to using the case for those.
First, as always, ProBikeKit delivered the huge box in a very reasonable amount of time to Alaska. Honestly, I sometimes get packages from PBK faster than from domestic Amazon. Regarding the case, it works well. To pack the bike, remove the wheels, deflate tires, and put the wheels in the moulded wheel wells with the included skewers. Then, remove the pedals, loosen the stem and bars and strap the bike in. Remember your torque wrench for reassembling the bars. The whole package, with my Trek Speed Concept, Enve wheels and some tools was about #50. The case's caster wheels work great, and it was very easy to cart around the airport. Remember that TSA will open the box, so don't have a lot of loose objects. Despite the airlines' valiant attempts to harm my bike, based on the nicks and scratches on the case, the bike was fine.
I have several upcoming bicycle vacations and wanted a first class case to ship my bike ahead of time to the various locations. I researched them for several weeks and decided that this case was the best designed and simplest to use. I have not been disappointed. Although the case is heavy, it slides easily as there are wheels front and back. Packing the bike was very quick and easy: you remove the seat post and saddle, pedals and wheels and loosen the front stem to turn the handlebars to the side. The wheels slide into protective sleeves and you attach them directly to the case very tight and secure. The bike fits perfectly inside the case and the seat post and saddle and pedals go into the pouch provided. I did use bubble wrap to protect the rear derailleur and more bubble wrap to protect the frame and make it fit more tightly inside. All in all a very simple and quick operation.
the case is amazing does everything that was advertised. the shipping to the united states was fast and no damage to the box at all. the price by probikekit.com was outstanding and I thank you.
I recently purchased my second SCICON case. The first one got nearly a decade of use before it was destroyed by TSA - but the bike was still completely unharmed. These cases are light, strong, and very easy to maneuver even when you're dragging additional luggage into the airport. This kit has been with me on many trips and I could not recommend it more highly.
I ordered the Scicon AeroTech Evolution TSA Bicycle Travel Case for a trip I made out to the west coast. Case was perfect for the trip, great investment if you plan on ticking off your bucket list of rides around globe. I was particularly pleased with the design. Lots of extra details incorporated in to the design, such as the latch guards make this a very practical solution for bike travel. Probikekit had the most affordable price out of all of the retailers out there. Tracking the shipment was a snap. I was a little concerned at first as this was my first purchase with porbikekit,.....All in all it was a very pleasant experience.
I looked at every case out there BEFORE finding this case. I needed a heavy duty manageable case for a pinnerello bike. This case is easy for me ( 5'2'') female to lift and move about. I can steer it by myself. The case has hidden wheels so the baggage handles have to work a little harder to break them off. The case has an easy life strap to help maneuver the "beast" into a car. This case is designed for airline travel. Hard sided ABS plastic and TSA locks. It is NOT designed for carrying in a car long distances. If you are traveling abroad leave this at a hotel for storage and get a bike rack to support your bike while traveling. This case is also not designed for integrated saddles. My saddle comes off so this was not a problem. Spend the extra money, buy a good bike case. I invested in my bike, I would not dream of shipping my bike without this case.
I purchased the Scicon Aerotech bicycle travel case to fly my bike to the Canadian Rockies for a tour. Not only was my bike safe and secure in the case, but it was easy to pack. I watched a video on how to pack the bIke in the case beforehand which was very helpful. The case is sturdy and rigid. It's easy to manuever (although it is quite large) and light in weight. In fact I loved the case so much, I purchased an additional one for my husband. Additionally, Bikebling is an amazing company and we received both travel cases within 7 days from ordering them online from the UK to California.
I ordered this case for my carbon road bike, and was delighted when it was delivered one week earlier than projected. The case is beautifully made (in Italy), and the design is superior to previous hard cases I have had. It is not large-looking, and it fits within our Prius hatchback trunk easily, along with another case we have. I have recommended this case to a friend, who will undoubtedly order one from ProBikeKit -- who could resist almost half price from list?
Best case I have ever used. I have used a few over 30 years of riding. Easy to pack, easy to move around, small but plenty of room for everything. I would highly recommend this case.
I have a new Specialized Roubaix SL4 with electronic shifting-- to me a very expensive bike. I want to take it with me on vacation so I did much research and decided the case I would want is a Scicon Aerotech. It's not cheap, but my bike is a big investment. No one seemed to have it in stock and I found probikekit by looking on the internet. The price for the case was almost half what others wanted! The case came in quickly with no shipping! Last night I packed my bike for tomorrow's trip to the Rockies and it's awesome the way the bike fits and I can feel good about my bike being protected.
