The Fulcrum Racing 5 C17 are an affordable, high-performance alloy wheelset perfect for training, racing and everything in between. With a shallower rim depth, this wheelset offers both crosswind stability and a responsive ride feel. Fulcrum has also designed this wheelset with a new wider rim width to accommodate wider tires for improved grip, comfort and speed out on the road.

Built with a set of alloy hubs which are filled with sealed cartridge bearings, these wheels offer a smooth spin that lasts. Thanks to the high flange rear hub, the rear wheel is also incredibly torsionally stiff and delivers power straight from rider to road. To maximize wheel strength and durability even futher, these hubs are laced to the rim via 18 stainless steel, double-butted spokes on the front, and 20 on the rear.

Not good for heavyweights

Have has two sets of Racing 5’s. First set road about 4000 miles on and spokes started breaking and cracks developed in rear wheel. Second set spoke broke at 310 miles on rear wheel. I weigh 220 pounds.

Great wheels. Easy maintenance.

Wheel stopped spinning when the skewer was tighten. It was super easy to adjust the bearing pressure with the adjusting ring. It took less than a minute. What a difference from my other wheels.

Another Update

Contacted Fulcrum/Campagnolo USA and they have promised to repair or replace the wheel. Thanks Buddy @ Campagnolo for all your help.

Great wheels great delivery

I need to replace a rear wheel to replace a Rolf wheel with Compy freehub that is now out of production. I selected the Fulcrum Racing 5 with Compy hub and got a full 2 wheel set for less than it would have cost me to just have the old wheel restrung and trued. I was at my house in less than a week and both wheels true. I mounted the old freehub and tire and it ran true. I was impressed with the shipping box the wheels came in. It was heavyweight cardboard and protected the wheels in shipment. I will purchase more from ProBikekit if I need anything.

Update on my previous review

After less than 700 miles on the wheels, 2 drive side spokes on the rear wheel broke. Not good.

Great Wheels

I bought these after a crash ruined my previous rear wheel. After a few hundred miles I'd say they are great wheels for the price. The roll smoothly and have remained true. They are solid and fairly light. No complaints at all.

fulcrum racing 5 C17

good delivery time. so far wheels run nice and quiet and smooth. I have a set of Dura ace C34 wheels, and honestly I can't tell the difference, but I ain't no pro either. I like 'em.

Fulcrum Racing 5 winners!

This is my second set of Racing 5’s. I have found them to be a great training/racing wheel set. Not too heavy, great sealed bearings that love to spin. Buy them, you won’t regret it and expect many happy miles from them. ProBikeKit is my go-to source for the best wheel prices and fastest shipping, a great company!

Great value

These are awesome wheels for the price. I bought them to replace some 12 year old Fulcrum Racing 3s. It’s clear that Fulcrum wheels have improved in that time as for less than half the price my 3s were I’ve got a wheelset that is equally light, lively and zippy with great road feel and smooth running hubs. They are definitely more of an all rounder/training wheel than the 3s as they have more spokes and while the spokes are slightly flattened they’re not exactly bladed spokes like the 3s had. This is partly why I got them though as I’m not racing anymore. Overall the quality is good although I did have to sand back the braking surface on the front wheel as it had a rough spot on both sides that looked like a manufacturing defect. Didn’t take much to do and now they’re perfect. They came out of the box straight and true as well so no issues there. A great all round wheelset that is probably one of the best value wheelsets around at the moment, especially from PBK thanks to their awesome prices.

Hard to Beat These

Fulcrum 5's came stock on my Pinarello Rokh in 2013. I was starting out riding trying to loose weight at 250 lbs and they held up for over 7,000 miles and are still straight. Building up a new bike I decided to go with what's been working and they came with all kinds of improvements. Still light, straight, and fast, but with wider rim sections to handle wider tires if wanted, and they look much better that the older versions. I've lost a lot of weight and they are still fast, light, and very responsive. I've upgraded my wife's bike with Fulcrum 5's and she loves them. For the price these are an amazing bargain. I don't think you can get this much wheel for this little price.
