The Fulcrum Racing 4 C17 is an alloy wheelset, perfect for performance-focused riders on a budget. With a 35mm deep rim, this wheelset offers both aero gains on flatter terrain, while also keeping weight to a relative minimum for climbing. Fulcrum has also designed this wheelset with a slightly wider rim, to ensure that larger tires can be seated comfortably, helping to minimize rolling resistance and maximize speed.

These performance rims are combined with a set of alloy hubs, which are filled with industrial quality bearings that offer a lasting smooth spin. By using 16 stainless steel spokes on the front and 21 on the rear, Fulcrum has kept the weight of this wheelset to a minimum, while maintaining wheelset stiffness and strength.

Great all-round wheels with an aero twist

I use Fulcrum wheels because they work. Racing 4's are no exception, true out of the box, take tyres easily (I use Vittoria Pave 25mm) yet not so loose that you can't ride on a flat, and available at a price that can't be beaten with a hand built alternative. As a rim brake user, an aero shaped aluminium rim is getting harder to find, yet useful when dodging rainclouds on London's streets. These wind up nicely, hold speed well, yet have great braking characteristics when riding in traffic. Racing 4's may not have Record level hubs, which may have weight and rolling advantages, however Record hubs cost as much as a set of these wheels. The industrial bearing hubs that are used work well, can easily be replaced with new bearings and cassette body (I've not had to do this), and remain noise free. As a non technical aside, I don't think of them as a low price point wheelset with an aero look, I think of them as an aero wheelset at a good price point. It is not so long ago that shiny silver (and then black bead blasted rim finish) Shamal's were being raced at the highest levels by Gewiss, and its later itinerations under Moreno Argentin et al. These look like their later versions at a lower price. A set built with Record level hubs would be awesome for those that want aero style aluminium rim wheels for use with Record or S. Record 12v groups, making what's old style new again, and giving those of us who don't race but like nice equipment something that 'fits' at that level. In the meantime, Racing 4's remain my daily use wheels in 'nice' weather (meaning not winter), I don't hanker for anything different (higher cost) as I dodge potholes.

Great buy and quality

I have now ridden on these Racing 4's for 10 months and about 1200 miles. Bought these when I finally broke a spoke on my Williams Cycling System 31's which would spin forever. Probikekit shipped these Pronto. I ride a Blue Competition Axino SL with a Campy Record/Chorus mix gruppo. These wheels are EXCELLENT and take a beating on Texas chipseal roads. Stay true with my 180 lbs weight. Roll and spin well and are great on the flats and rolling hills. Mounted Vittoria Rubino Pros 25 mm tires with ease. If you want a good quality, wallet friendly, tough as nails non carbon wheelset - this is it!!!

Fulcrum Racing 4 Wheelset

Have been riding on them for only two weeks now. Besides looking great they are true and roll well. Hit 35 mph on a big descent several days ago and they rode true with no discernible wobble. They are on the heavy side but when riding on rolling terrain their weight gives them high inertia to roll up the uphill of the rolling terrain.

New Wheels for second bike

I needed wheels for what will soon be my second bike. I wanted a half decent set and landed on the Fulcrums after some research. The roll really well and I putting in goods times given I had technically downgraded from my broken Dura Ace. The reason for giving 3 stars though is that they flex when I’m out of the saddle and rub on the brakes.

Nice Wheels for older Rim Brake Frames

Love em. nice wheels, laterally stiff, bears roll smoothly. Just rode across Nevada on them. I got a nice titanium frame I still enjoy riding but the has a narrow by current wheel widths space at the rear frame stays. It requires external with of 23 for less. I've had several pairs of the AC 420 which I've been happy with but time had come to look for a replacement. I wanted ~ 35 mm depth wheel with Alum Brake track for wet weather with rim brakes and would be able to take 700x 25mm tires. Surprising very hard to find. Most are 25 mm and much more expensive. very pleased with my purchase as well as the quick delivery.

Great Wheels

These are great wheels. Not for racing but perfect for training and weekend club rides. Laterally stiff and handel crosswind very well. Use 25 or 28 CC tires with these wheels and be amazed at the way they handel and absorb imperfections in the road.

new wheels!

Decided to upgrade my stock wheels to Fulcrum racing 4’s and wasn’t disappointed. They look good (ace graphics and mid depth rims) they are light and they roll really well. Fitted 25c tyres and the go like a dream, noticing a difference on the hills already! Great price, service and speedy delivery from Probikekit as well so all good.

New Wheel Day

Good looking wheels, I have installed them on my 2009 Titus Vuelo which was running Mavic Aksium race/training wheels. The bike has been transformed and is a lot more fun to ride. A robust good allrounder which will serve for many years

Recently purchased these set of wheels and first impressions are brilliant. Roll smoothly, feel extremely light yet strong. Completed alot of research into a mid-spec, reasonable cost wheelset and these came out on top. Extremely happy with the purchase so far. They look great and feel fantastic. Delivered in secure box and beautifully packaged. I intend to put many kilometres into these wheels and initial thoughts suggest this will be the case. As the name suggests these are racing wheels and I feel confident they will live up to expectations.

Just as Advertised

After reading many articles concerning increasing speed, the only choice I had to improve was to find an mid-aerodynamic wheel that was not going to have great cost. I was not going to purchase carbon since I ride many country roads with debris and I have caliber brakes. These wheels did help my flat road velocity increase without loss to hill climbing efficiency. Great choice for a person who averages 16 to 18 mph who ride 60 to 100 miles per week.
