The Fulcrum Racing 3 is one of the most versatile and popular wheelsets available. Light enough to race, reliable enough to be used everyday and tough enough for all conditions. The new oversized hubs (looking very smart in white) are lighter and stiffer, for better power transfer and strength whilst 2-way fit allows you to run either tubeless or clincher tyres for convenience.
This wheelset is Shimano 11 speed compatible, it is also compatible with 9 and 10 speed Shimano but you will need to use the spacer provided. Please note that this 11 speed compatibility is a rolling change from Fulcrum for their 2013 wheelsets so please check the description for this message about compatibility.

I have compared these Fulcrum 3's to the more expensive but similar weight Mavic ksyrium Elite's and I have to say the Fulcrum's are just as good performers which means they perform much better than any entry level wheel or for that matter any wheel that costs less than these wheels. Whether on flats, climbing, or descending they make a difference over wheels such as the Fulcrum 5's or Mavic Aksiums that I also have tested or almost any Shimano Wheel. With 700 x 25's and drop the pressure a little, you go by people on descents like they are dragging an anchor. I've passed more than 12 riders on a single descent and no one has ever passed me on a descent including people with carbon aero wheels, Ironman aero bikes, and tandems and I use clinchers.. Note that these wheels have the wider rim profile to maximize the use of wider tires and this is another reason why they are so fast and comfortable too. These wheels are so worth their cost and other reviewers with more miles say they are also durable and maintainable which was confirmed by my LBS.
I got these to satisfy my curiosity about running road tubeless, but these wheels can also run traditional inner tubes. They were remarkably easy to set up tubeless even though there are plenty of stories on the forums about how hard it can be to get certain tires to work with certain rim designs. So far they have held up over about 150 miles of tubeless road riding over varied terrain with no issues, no flats and no burps. They are light, bearings very smooth and did not require building up the rim with tape to mount Hutchinson Fusion 25 tires. The white hubs I'm not a fan of simply because they get dirty quickly, but when riding or when in motion of course that's irrelevant. No regrets so far, upgraded from a basic road model Campagnolo wheelset (Khamsin) and of course Fulcrums are close cousins to Campagnolos so the transition was smooth and the main difference is they spin up easier and do seem to make things slightly easier on steep sustained climbs.
Only issue is they showed up weeks out from expected date (sat in customers for 2 weeks). This was out of the control of Pro Bike kit so I would still give high ratings for item.
I have had the Racing 3 for 5 years now. Just replaced the free wheel bearings after hearing noise during a 6-day 400-mile ride. No spoke angle issues. Wheels stayed true the whole time. These are great performance wheels and a great price for the quality of product. I swapped wheel sets with comparably priced Shimano for demo purposes and the difference was very noticeable. Fulcrums feel like they engage faster and give a closer connection with the road without additional vibration. I bought these to upgrade from the Fulcrum 5 and appreciate the lighter weight and greater responsiveness. The bladed spokes work fine and none has ever failed or turned. Also appreciate not having to worry about covering a spoke holder inside the wheel to protect the tube since there is no intrusion into the tube side of the wheel. I don't think there is a better quality wheel set in their price range. It would be a good idea to check the hubs out more often than I did so bearings can be replaced before they are completely shot, but mine did last 5 years or about 10,000 miles.
I bought the Fulcrum Racing 3s from ProBikeKit as an upgrade to my stock wheels on my Specialized Tarmac. Wheels arrived quickly, well within the specified time, to my address in the USA. The box was well-padded and the wheels were in perfect condition upon arrival, which was a concern of mine due to the potential international shipping risks. Setup was easy and fast. Manufacturer quality is really high. Fit was true and it's really noticeable the difference in performance. Highly recommend these particular wheels and also ProBikeKit as a vendor; they responded quickly to my emails and it was a great experience.
