Designed with the latest iteration of Continental’s legendary Black Chili rubber compound, the Continental Grand Prix 5000 boasts a 10-gram weight reduction in a 25c width, a 12% reduction in rolling resistance and a 20% increase in durability compared with its predecessor. Thanks to the proprietary Laser Grip Technology which creates a micro tread pattern that expands over the shoulder of the tire, the GP5000 also offers increased all-weather grip, giving you the ability to take even the most technical corners at speed.

Continental believes a comfortable tire is a fast tire – which is why the GP5000 now comes in a 32c width and is constructed with Active Comfort Technology to help smooth the sharpest shocks from the roughest roads. Lined with the tear-resistant but ultra-lightweight Vectran fibers, the GP5000 sets new standards for puncture protection in road race tires. So, whether you’re training in the sunshine or racing in a downpour, you’ll have complete confidence that your tire out-performs the competition in every category and in all possible conditions.

Great tire - vastly improved from 3000

I value road feel and adhesion over treadwear and rolling resistance. I ride about 16K per year. I've been using Vittoria Corsa's for many years and was very happy with their performance in this regard - except that the high treadwear was getting to me - I was going through 3 rear tires per year. Always willing to try something new, I thought I'd give GP5000's a try. My last experience was with GP 3000's and they were very difficult to mount to my Campy Zonda wheels (not tubeless mind you). Mounting the 5000s were not as easy as Corsa's but nowhere near as difficult as the 3000s, I did not need levers. As for road feel, the 5000s are very smooth and supple. I run about 85 psi and road grip and comfort are very nice. The profile of the tire is slightly more rounded than Corsa's which tend to make them wander a bit on straight tarmac, and therefore they feel a bit vague to me. Surprisingly, despite feeling vague on straights, this same feature makes them very lively on twisty sections, I can dig the front wheel in, push through the turn and the front wheel feels like it's on rails. Very nice. I've only a few 100K's on them so far, so cannot attest to treadwear yet. If they hold up longer than Corsa's this will be my new go-to tubed clincher - at least until I take the plunge into tubeless....

Strong brand as usual

Very easy to fit. After few ride nothing to say, really good feeling, confortable with the 25 tyres while riding and seems to be strong.

After purchasing new Shimano RS81 wheels I decided to pair them with the Grand Prix 5000 700x28c tyres. Was a tad sceptical to reviews but delighted to find that they were indeed very comfortable (main reason for going up to 28 from 25mm) and actually faster than my previous Vitoria 25’s. Even taking it easy on the first ride saw a couple of Strava PR’s. Very grippy in the corners and easy to get up to speed, granted my view might be tainted due to the new wheels but tyres must take some of the credit. Only downside is that with the lower PSI in 28’s does take a bit getting used to as I keep double checking for a rear puncture as it’s very spongy, will play around with PSI though and might the right pressure for me. I’m thinking of putting the 28’s on my old wheels for winter and getting 25’s for my RS81 for summer.

Good Rubber

An excellent tire sold at a very good price with excellent customer service. Of course I'm happy.

Haven't used the Conty GP 5000's as yet, but if they are an improvement on the GP 4000's then I'm sure they will be nothing short of excellent. The tyres took approximately 4 weeks to ship to Australia but in the current COVID 19 crisis this is well and truly great service from ProBike Kit

Those tires are great tires, I love continental products an i'm going to enjoy them a lot.

Great Tires

I had the previous 4000 tires and needed new tires. ProBikeKit had the best prices on the internet. The tires are great. I had an issue and they help me out in record time. They have great customer service. I would shop again at ProBikeKit and recommend that others do too for there bike needs. Kemar

Conti 5000

Really noticed the difference on my first ride , I always buy mid range thinking there’s not a lot of difference, it’s a false philosophy there is a difference and these tyres proved it .

Conti Road bike tyres

Brilliant tyres, love them. Grippy, run well, easy to put on, do their job!

Absolutely fantastic tyre . Superb rolling resistance and puncture protection
