SMP Full Carbon Saddle

I have been riding on an SMP Composit saddle for the past 7 years. After an initial adaptation period, I found the saddle to be very comfortable. When I bought a new bike, I decided to replace the Fizik Antares that came with the bike with an SMP saddle. I decided on the Full Carbon model because the saddle dimensions and shape are almost identical to the Composit version, and looks amazing. I have been riding on it for about a month, on 3 - 3 1/2 hour rides and couldn't be happier with it. It is sooo comfortable, actually more comfortable than the Composit. One reason for the greater comfort is probably due to the carbon rails which dampen some of the road vibrations. My Composit saddle has the steel rails. I have marked it down to 4 stars for 2 reasons. The first is that the manufacturer has very strict requirements for the clamp - rail interface. This isn't stated in the saddle description. Because of this, I had to buy a new seat post which has a clamp that meets the requirements. The second reason is that the carbon rails on my saddle are a little too closely spaced. They don't just slip into the clamp. I was advised by the PBK technical people to tighten the clamp to spread the rails to their correct position. This worked and the rails now sit nicely in the clamp. However, I believe a saddle at this price point should be built to more exacting tolerances. Yes, it is expensive, but worth it to me for the comfort it provides.
