I've tried two or three of these latex tubes before, and I generally like them. I had one blow up in my wheel while I was pumping it up, leading me to be much more careful when installing them to make sure they're evenly distributed, not twisted or kinked, or anything else like that. In fact, when I install a latex tube after that one incident I'll pump it up to maybe half the normal pressure, then let the air out again, and then pump it up to full. This gives it a chance to redistribute itself more evenly around the wheel so that when I pump it up it's not overly stressed in one part. What I really liked about the latex tubes is how they felt. The traditional black rubber that tubes are made from seems to absorb more energy as it deforms where the contact patch is of the tire on the road. The latex tube seems not to absorb as much energy. It seems closer to an ideal elastic than the traditional butyl rubber compounds. The only way I can describe how this feels is "lighter" in rolling. Not sure if I described this well, but that's how they feel to me. I'd use them again. I do think the latex tubes seem to age worse than the normal tubes. Leave a latex tube out in the garage for a few months and you can definitely see it. If you go through tubes fairly often I'm not sure if this has to be much of a factor though.
I like latex inner tubes in general, and these Vitoria latex inner tubes are a much appreciated compliment to my current wheels. I like the fact that the Vittoria product comes in two sizes - I use the larger size in the rear tire, and the smaller size in the front tire. I also appreciate the reddish color, as it makes it easy to see if a cut has gone through the casing. The 51mm valves are just long enough for my wheels and pump head.
I changed to these tubes when i installed my Ultegra Wheelset. Definitely rides better with the same Michelin Pro4 Endurance 25mm - feels like there is 15psi less in tires at same pressure 75-80psi No problems mounting, just used instructions off Velo News Feels faster, but also changed wheelset at same time.
The Vittoria latex inner tubes provide a supple, smooth and comfortable ride. Latex inner tubes are worth the price as they have a greater degree of puncture resistance. I highly recommend these inner tubes to anyone who prices performance over saving a few quid.
