The absoluteblack oval chainring is noticeably smoother than a round ring in the sense that I am riding at a average cadence without a "dead spot", thus increasing efficiency. This also allows me to last longer in my ride. Climbing also seemed to improve due to the higher cadence. I am very happy as my average speed has increased 1.5 to 2mph. On the down side, I have experienced a dropped chain twice when stopped, when I bumped the crank back with my leg, but never while riding. Still five stars. Completely pleased.
