Fancy but inaccurate
My main reasons to have a bike computer are to measure how far I went, my speed and how long it took. Plus I like to have the HRM feature. Those are the only ones I am talking about here. The unit is well made and seems to be quite robust. The instructions are a little tricky to follow. My main problem with this device is it is not accurate. I compared the GPS distance readings with another make of computer which I calibrated by counting pedal revs in a known gear with a wheel the circumference of which I had measured and allowed for the change in wheel radius as a result of the load when riding. The Rider 320 is consistently 2.5% short of the real distance. This means the displayed speed is also wrong. The ride time using the auto stop/start feature is a good idea, but in practice for what I do it is also not accurate. The unit is supposed to have a stopwatch feature, which to me means I can press a button to stop the time and the same button to start it again. The stop button is underneath the unit on one side and the start button is on the edge on the other side. That button if pressed while moving records another lap, which is pretty useless if you only want to start the timer again. The unit displays the details of the ride and uses the total ride time, however if the individual lap info is displayed the time shown at the top of each lap page is not the ride time but the elapsed time. This can be checked by using the lap speed and distance to work out the time. Why anyone would want it this way beats me. The HRM works about as well as all the others I have used - works most of the time. Overall this device seems to have lots of features but the most important ones are too inaccurate to be properly useful.
