two reasons these excellent shorts aren't 5 stars: a. i don't have lots of rides on them--can't say anything about durability yet. b. i sorta question the chamois' durability. aside from those concerns, these shorts make me wonder why more people aren't paying attention to Northwave as a complete kit brand. i LOVE my northwave extreme shoes. Same with these shorts, they fit well and they're comfortable through a 4 hour ride at least (haven't ridden more than that in them yet). unlike some brands i've got, the gripper-fabric isn't rolling around at the edge. the seams are tightly sewn, the straps are unobtrusively supportive, and, best of all, (maybe) the front is cut low enough to make road-side nature-breaks just a bit . . . easier.
