The same qualities that have made the RACING 5 such a popular wheelset in the past combine new elements in order to make an affordable but also race ready wheel.

The new 20 spoke design in addition to the asymmetric rear rim profile offers remarkable performance increases in terms of both increased lateral and torsional rigidity as well as increased reactivity.

The new design allows for more homogenous spoke tensions and makes for a sturdier, higher performing wheelset that weighs in at over 100 grams less than its previous version.

The new rim is wider than before, 17C.

Great wheelset for the price

I replaced the Mavic Aksium that came with my bike because I wanted to use wider rims (17C vs 15C). Pro: * Suberb build quality and overall construction quality. * Less flexy than the Mavics? * Less harsh than the Mavics? (That might simply be because of the rounder/better tyre shape caused by the wider rims, I'm running 28C) * 17mm inner diameter. Not a fake. * Best wheel for 300$ CAD? Cons: * Advertised weight is way off. Mesured at 790g + 970g => 1760g. Sure it's with the included rim tape, but that's 100g more than advertised price. I knew this already from other reviews, so I'm not disappointed, but BEWARE if you are buying those wheels to shed weight. * Pretty average stickers color and design (I removed them already) You can get better wheels I'm sure, but for the price it's a great choice.

Lovely Wheels

So let me be clear I'm a 52 year old who really likes cycling for fitness and pleasure. I am not a racer by any means. I got these as part of a major upgrade to my old and out of date Giant SCR 3.0 and oh my goodness how they changed my ride. Fitted them with Conti GP-4000s II in 25C and they roll beautifully. They helped knock up my speed today by 3.5kph over my 32Km route. Highly recommend for those that want a decent wheel set (IMHO) for a good price.

Super wheel-set

I purchased these after buying a 7 LG set for my other bike. The wheels are trued and round to perfection. I didn't realize how good the bearing where until I was following in a group of riders down hill when I was shocked to find myself catching up to them while coasting and they were pedaling. I had to break several times so as not to run into the back of them. Can't say enough good things about Fulcrum - super wheel-set.

9 Speed compatible?

Is this wheel set compatible with 9 speed?

Great Wheel for the Price

I bought these wheels to upgrade the stock Maddux 3.0's on my Cannondale Synapse. I paired them with Vittoria Pro G+ tires. The combination produced an immediate improvement to my bike. This is particularly evident when climbing. I am small and light (160cm and 60kg) and the lower rotational weight is very evident. Delivery was very fast, arriving on the west coast of Canada from the U.K. 4 days sooner than promised. Very impressed.

Fulcrum Racing 5 LG

Hello everyone, Someone recommended me these wheels. These are my first good set of wheels. I would say this: i knew my bike is slow(cheapest I could find locally, aluminium frame, carbon fork and Shimano Claris group set). A while back my friends started to tell me i work too much on my bike and maybe i should change the bottom bracket... wheels.... I changed both wheels and bb(ultegra). Before these wheels i couldn't fully understand what people were talking about saying "fast wheels", now i can say i have a totally better understanding for that. To put that in perspective, i got +4km faster in average for a loop a do quite often(after 3 weeks of almost no cycling), i got PRs over a climb where last year i was decent, on the first try this year(September 2016 last climb- 27th March this year first climb), cycling first 70km on flats and than 30km for climbs, while before i did only 30km climbing. And i only have little over 400 km with these new wheels. I feel i work less on my bike, for faster speeds and longer rides. Go figure yourself! I fully recommend this set of nice wheels! This is meant to be a very simple review, with no other details than what and how i feel after this upgrade from stock wheels. Wish you all tail wind!

Review fulcrum 5LG

Great set of wheels for the money. All around terrain with special emphasis on a wider and stronger tire. Lighter and more affordable wheel than other wheel manufacturer competitors.

Fantastic wheels

Really nice set of wheels at a good price. They're light and when paired with a decent set of tyres should improve your performance. I went from some stock tyres and wheels I my Cannondale and times are now closer to the pace I would set in summer. Climbing is certainly easier! Saving some money for Quattros now.

Good

Fairly light, very reliable for the price

Fulcrum Racing 5 Wheelset.

Bought these Fulcrum Racing 5 to replace wheels on a winter bike. Have previously used Racing 7 wheels and these are noticeably better, lighter and run really smoothly. Quick realise on rear creaked when put under pressure, easily solved when well greased. You forget how sloppy your old wheels have become (loose freehub & hub) until you put in some new wheels, changes gear like a new bike now. Rims are wide but I like the way this feels and seem to have better climbing traction in the wet as a result.
