I'm on my 2nd set of Rubino Pros and for durability, price point, and overall performance, you simply can't do better. These tires reflect the best in Italian quality and craftsmanship. I ride in the mountains and always feel secure on fast descents, especially in tight corners. This is the choice for anyone who wants a dependable, fast tire at an unbeatable price.
Been using for 3 years now - they hold up to rough roads, track well in the rain, and haven't seen many flat tires.
Great tires at a great price, fast shipping to the US, very satisfied.
Good racing and training tire, love the color, long lasting also
Quick receipt of my tire order. I always go to PBK first for my bike needs. Less expensive and quick "at my door" delivery.
Contrary to at least one other review, I did, indeed, receive the 150 TPI version III.
I really enjoy Rubino Pro tires and the PBK prices are the best anywhere. Good puncture resistance in a reasonably supple tire. I was a little disappointed, however, to receive RP 2s rather than 3s. I believe the 2s were discontinued in 2011-2012. I doubt I will possibly notice the difference, but the web site needs to be at least accurate. While it does not explicitly say RP III, it does say 150 TPI, and the IIs are 120.
Awesome it's a new experience riding these tires I like the feel I'm a big guy and like the fact that I can go up to 145psi .my first ride I did 35miles and it was great. Thanks
I've bought many tires from PBK and have decided that the VRPCRT are the best ones to date. Rarely a flat and good overall mileage from this tire. Also, gotta have colors on my wheels!
I've had good luck with the Rubinos as training tires. Very few punctures, solid performance. Sure, they aren't the lightest, but they get the job done and they were ridiculously cheap on probikekit.
These arrived timely and as ordered. My first order with PBK. Love the tires so far - compared to my favorite Panaracer Type D clinchers. Plus having them come in red/black matches my bike so score.
I have had pretty good luck with the Kevlar belted version of this tire over the years...however....in recent years the quality or puncture resistance has seemed to diminished somewhat....can't beat the sale price...
My favorite tires are Veterstein Tri-comps w/a Kevlar belt & bead...however...no one has them any longer in 650c...I Time Trial & it is a very durable performance tire that will hold extremely high tire pressures similar to tubular tires....
Ridden these tires for two years. Only one flat when I hit a rock. Get good mileage also I avg about 3000 miles out of set
The Rubino Pro gives excellent value for the money. While not as light, nor as responsive as some of the more expensive tires such as Continental's Gran Prix 4000s, the Rubino Pro handles well, wears well and gives a surprisingly good quality ride. I do my winter training on harsh Arizona desert roads that eats tires. The rubino pro holds up to the rough stuff and has excellent puncture resistance. A great training tire.
These are my go to high mileage and training tire. Price is great and road feel and handling is well above average. I haven't found a better everyday tire option in 20 years.
These are goid tyres, not expensive, long wear, and love the colors
These tires came on a new bike I purchased. Didn't know anything about them up to then. I found them to be a great tire. Long-lasting (2000 miles) and durable. They also roll very nice. I will continue to use due to price, roll, durablility.
I've been using these tires for years. I have tried many others but it's hard to beat these for rolling resistance and wear and tear. Excellent value for everyday road and racing.
Great price, great puncture resistance, they last me a year! Not too many flats throughout the life, less than ive had with gatorskins!
I'm an amateur cyclist - been riding for 5 years. While I can't claim to have tried anywhere near every tire available, I've found these to be the best among those I have tried. I have these tires installed on three of my four bikes (the fourth is a cyclocross). (1) They offer excellent flat resistance. I ride on roads that have plenty of 'road debris' (rocks, tree limbs, etc., - no glass) and I have yet to flat with these tires after more than 6,000 miles (multiple bikes - I note that one pair has about 2,500 miles and is getting very thin, so if it flatted tomorrow I wouldn't be surprised, but every other tire I've tried has flatted far sooner). For your comparison, I ride at 115/105 psi rear/front. The Vittoria Rubino's are rated at 145psi max, I believe. Another tire (can I state the brand and tire here? Serfas Seca RS) I just removed and replaced with a fresh set of Rubino's. The old tire has half the TPI, is rated at 130psi, and flatted on me not excessively, but still often enough to be an annoyance. Good-bye and good-riddance to them! (2) They offer better (less) rolling resistance than any other tire I've tried. Not enough to turn me into a lightning-fast racer, but it's noticeable. (3) I like the broad color stripe on the sides. A little bike-bling is a good thing, imho.
I've had excellent luck with Rubino Pros, regular and "slicks". Fairly light, long wearing, handle well. Current ones I'm running have the blue sidewalls, and they're going strong after well over 1200 miles (not a single flat, knock on carbon). No complaints with these tires at all!
This are the best tires for training. I'm bee using 700x25mm and love it.
Solid performing, reasonably priced tire... a bit of traction on wet roads... a good choice for all but flat out racing.
These tires are fantastic. They have held up through 5,000 miles and not one flat from a puncture. The color options are awesome, and it's a great all around tire. I had a set that I used for racing and a set I used for training, you can't go wrong with a set of these tires. I highly recommend them.
This is an outstanding tire at a great price that offers cyclists durability, dependability and Italian tradition. While not the lightest clincher tire on the market, its few extra ounces make little difference when one considers the tire's overall performance and longevity. I have been especially impressed with the tire's cornering ability in all types of weather. A great buy. A great ride.
Great tire at a great price. Tires came in the manufactures box and arrived in the state in about two weeks. Great buying experience and will by from again.
I've been riding on these tires for many years. I've always found them to be very durable (puncture resistant) and with a low rolling resistance. They corner well at high speed and even on wet roads. If you are looking for the best "bang for the buck" go with the Rubino Pro's.
Great tires, highly recommended, hardly any flats, biggest bang for your buck
The Vittoria Rubino Pro tires are good quailty and easy to change.
Excellent tires. Put 3000 miles on a previous set and not a single cut or nick on the tire. Back tire flattened across the middle but that is normal with all tires I have ridden (I weigh 230 lbs). Great tire if you ride on rough/chip and tar roads. Would recommend this tire to anyone that wants the security of knowing the tire is almost flat proof.
Have bought from probikekit before and have been very pleased. Will continue to buy.
Good all round training tire, highly recommend for winter riding.
Been riding either these or the Vredestein puncture resistant training tires for the past 10+ years. Vredestein are a bit more supple, but the Rubinos maybe flat once a year if at all. Just because the PSI says 145 max, there's no reason to inflate anywhere near that. I ride them at 100 and that is just fine. Can't go wrong for training on the Rubinos.
Ok I like the styling and they seem like good tires, I have had good luck with them in the past in terms of there durability. However, after only a couple of rides I blew one out with some glass on the road. Tore a hole so big that the tire was totally unusable. I wish there was some road debris protection at least for the first 90 days or something. Hard to say if any other tire would have faired better against the glass.
Although I have less than 100 miles on this (rear) tire, I like its road feel so far. I'm also impressed with the tire's solid construction. The tread appears to be substantial and the tire holds its pressure quite well. 4 Stars today; maybe 5 Stars after another 500 miles. Time will tell.
After a struggle to get the tire on my rim because the sidewalls had flattened out due to the packaging it came in, I want to report that after a few rides I'm quite impressed with this product. Time will tell, but so far so good.
Vittoria makes great tires; Rubino Pro is an excellent proof of that. I had been a cyclist for over 20 years. I ride from 300 to 500 miles per week. The tire that I use is Vittoria Rubino Pro Clincher Road Tyre. Its durability is above average. Its rolling resistance is minimum, so it is a fast tire. It also has great all weather grip. I had been sponsored by other brands and I had use so many more. the one that I buy I had used for so many years now and it is used on all my bikes is the Rubino Pro. It lasts long, rolls good; and is a training tyre that could be used to race. Just give it a try and enjoy the ride. PS. I no longer race and I have never and will never be sponsored by Vittoria. therefore you can trust what I say
I have been riding Rubinos for about 5 years and can honestly say I've had a lot of luck with them. great flat resistance, get a ton of miles (kilos!), and are very supple. Recommend these tires to high mileage riders.
I just got these in the mail. I can't speak about how good the tires themselves are yet since I haven't put them on my bike yet. The product did come as described and were shipped in a timely manor.
These Vittoria Rubino Pro Clincher Road Tyre are exactly what I was looking for, a durable, puncture resistant training tire. I have only ridden them for 10 hours or so, but I have no complaints so far. They are a little slower than some racing tires, but that is what you sacrifice to help avoid a flat tire.
Rubino Pro tires are relatively inexpensive and they wear slowly. I had one tire get a sidewall cut, but other than that, I have never had a puncture. My current rear Rubino Pro tire has almost 4700k on it and is still going strong.
