PowerBar have combined several features into one gel. They have a natural fruit juice taste, they’re runny enough to swallow easily, and have a research-proven combination of carbohydrates for optimal energy uptake. They also contain 300mg of sodium to boost hydration. Despite their real fruit taste, they’re sweet compared with some other gels. It’s a natural sweetness though, making it easier to cope with.Report this review
This is a sticky, sweet gel that comes with a noticeable caffeinated kick. We used them on all-day epics but they’re good for enduros, cross-country and cyclo-cross races as they pack away small but deliver a big carb and caffeine hit.Report this review
These have become my favorites, when choosing gels:) Great taste and thickness, but generally a sports drink or water is often needed for me after I ahve taken one. They do the job, and keeps your energy-level high.
They have kind of a strong taste, but I enjoy it! Try it, and hopefully you will love it like me:D
These gels are average and a bit messy. I much prefer the kick and flavor of Clif Shots.Report this review
I've have tried a few gels and some of them are awful. The strawberry/banana was really nice.Report this review
I primarily use these for quick shots of energy during races. It's not too terribly hard to rip open the packet with your teeth when on the go. The gel goes down pretty easily, especially when aided with a bit of water (recommended on the label). The tastes are surprisingly good as energy gels go. Minus one star because the remnants of the packets can turn into a bit of a glue when the empty packet is stuffed into a jersey pocket...(though it does come out easily in the wash).Report this review
In my opinion these gels don't stand a chance against torq or high 5 ones to be honest, they are far too thick and heavy to digest when you are on the go and have a high heart rate.
That said, the caffeine ones are great pre race to get that starting edge against everybody else and you can really feel them working.
I would call this Gel just average when compared with other gels, but not the worse I have hadReport this review
As far as gels go, these are nothing special. I won't turn them down, but taste-wise Gu beats these easily. The texture of these gels is good because they're not too thick. Instead of these I recommend trying Powerbar's chews since those taste better and are very similar to gummy candy.Report this review
These are high calorie, low H20...so make sure you can ingest them at high heart rates. They have all the necessary calories, but the chocolate ones can taste as thick and strong as cake batter. The caffeine content in some is trivial for an ergogenic effect. Try them, they are great tasting, but you need to see if they are 'for you'.
