these are very well made, with very good materials. I would easily rate them a 5, but a seam on upper thigh rubs on long rides- enough to abrade the skin. Probably unique to this pair- but not so bad I do not wear them.
I have this bib tights for about a year now and they are exceptional. Very comfortable, well made and fit. Did I say warm down to the 20F here in Minnesota which the temperature rarely goes above 30F in the winter months. I stay warm and comfortable during my 40 - 50 miles group ride on the weekend in the winter.
I purchased these bib tights with little expectations, other than I've had a terrific consumer experience with PBK for the last couple of years. When I received the bibs a few weeks ago, I was pleased with their construction, material quality, and their fit. It hasn't really been cold enough to wear them until this week, here in Central California. Today, I wore them on our annual cycling club's New Year's day ride. The temperature was 28 degrees F when we started the 45 mile ride into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. It never warmed up above 45 F. These are exceptional cycling bib tights. I was warm and comfortable the entire day; I simply cannot say enough about the quality chamois and the thermal fabric. These are world-class bibs and are as good or better than the other thermal bib tights I own, made by a quality manufacturer of cycling accessories that rhyrmes with Cyril Don't Sue Me :)- Bravo PBK!
This is my second pair. The first held up for over two seasons. Warm in winter. I love the zipper bellow the belly.
I just used the bib tights for the first time today on a 6000 foot climb on the north side of a mountain in Southern California. There were times when I was in direct sun and times in deep shade where the sun hadn't or wouldn't reach that day. I was never too hot or too cold. I can't say I was always toasty but I certainly wasn't distracted or concerned during the long ascent. Temperatures ranged from low 40's F to low 60s F. The bibs have some type of special knee fabric that had extra flex so that the knees were very flexible but not sagging. They also have a short zipper on the front where the bibs come up a little higher than typical bib shorts. The bib also has a little flap to cover it to keep the zipper off your skin. That's a pretty nice touch. I did nearly the entire climb in the saddle as well as the rest of the ride and found the chamois to be comfortable. I am very pleased with the bib tights and would definitely by another pair if I find that I need more warm weather gear.
Good fit! Zipper in front fits well, and fit around knees is good!
These are great. Very warm, very comfortable. I love the fit around the knees... it allows for bending the knees a bit more easily. The one thing I would change could be to have the zipper on the sides of the ankles rather than the back.
Nice fit. Good material. Seem warm so far.
Very good quality and excellent price.
I really did not have high hopes for these since I wasn't familar with the PBK brand and they were quite inexpensive for winter bib tights with a chamois. Well now that the cold is finally hitting here in the Northeast I've finally had a chance to try them and I could not be happier. The fit is perfect and they are now my go to bibs when its below 50 deg F (10 deg C). Unlike my other twice as expensive bibs the chamois is perfectly positioned and never has to be repositioned and the leg length is well proportioned to the rest of the bib. I am 5' 11" and 175 lbs and the large is perfect. These are warm. One day it warmed up to 60 F (15 C) or so and they were too warm which makes sense since these are for the cold.
I have not used these yet since weather still warm. But they look and feel to be high quality. I will find out first cold ride.
