Cinelli Gel Ribbon Cork Handlebar Tape

Good product, soft feel with excellent padded comfort. Very easy to fit and conform to handlebar shape. I was looking for product with good wear durability so we will see how it goes.

Comfortable on the bars. Easy to clean . good quality,Italian brand.

Great looking bar tape for a classic look! It is a good alternative to the Brooks super expensive leather bar tape if you are looking for a classic look to go with your leather saddle. Looks especially good with the Honey colored Brooks saddles.

Very easy to put on - could undo & re-wrap a couple of times to get it just right. Nicely padded and grips well. I went for the white tape & whist it does get dirty, it wipes clean very easily.
Also grips well in the rain.
The plugs aren't the best fit, but that's a minor gripe.
Good value for money.

I have used many brands of tape over the twenty four years I have been on the bike. Cinelli Gel has to be the most comfortable, especially if you don't wrap it too tight. This tape is also very durable, like other have said, you can re-wrap many times without problem. Great stuff!

As other said, it wraps very well and can be re-wrapped since the backing has just a little tact to it, unlike the regular Cinelli cork. The best trait of this tape is how comfortable it is.

ps- i forgot to mention the cinelli logo is nowhere on the tape so it will therefore be plain colour you order.

I replaced my bar tape last night and went for a ride the following morning. VERY comfortable for me. I liked the "puffyness" of it compared to other tapes i have used (i like to grip tight when riding up hill and feel my hands dig into something to help with the pain!). It was slightly trickier to insert plugs due to the puffyness but it is manageable.

Tape- when i woke up the bar tape was peeling off (i was very careful not to get fingerprints on it too). Also, the small grip strips used around the gear levers peels off if you hang around while wrapping the grip. Be quick and use electrical tape or some other brand to finish it.

The plugs arnt too special (plain black plastic) and could be improved- actually they look very cheap.

Note: the grip tape doesnt have adhesive on the reverse side so wrapping can be tricky if you dont keep it tight while your going.

Overall id try something new based on the better plugs and poor tape, however, i would revert to this as if others similarly fell short.

A Cinelli bike deserves Cinelli bar tape and the previous review convinced me to try this one.

Its been a really comfortable surprise. Good wrapping instructions, followed by Cinelli logo plugs. Although not as flashy as the coloured Cinelli Milano ones sold separately, they more than did the job!

Wrapping was fairly easy and I am very happy with the result. I agree that the finishing tape isn't the best, electrical tape works better!

I've had this tape in black, natural and red and it's my favourite bar tape, comfortable, easy to wrap and can be taken off and re-wrapped multiple times. Beware that the red tape may look a little pink once it's been stretched around the bars and the tape supplied to finish the job is not particularly good - use electrical tape
