A power meter is the ultimate training tool for serious cyclists and triathletes. Affixed to the handlebars, a power meter is like a cycling supercomputer, displaying critical data on a cyclist's speed, distance, and workload. This title is suitable for competitive athletes who want to unlock the secrets that lead to speed.

an essential if you intend on using a powermeter as a training tool

this book covers everything you'll need to know in order to train effectively with power, and is even beneficial if you are considering getting a power meter as it explains why training with power is better, and provides a comparison of power meters and computers available before getting into the technical side of training.
I often find myself using the tables provided as a reference when planning my training and assessing my performance.

The book however does get a bit technical at times which may confuse the less experienced/knowledgeable reader, however if you intend training with a power meter there is some essential knowledge you will need to get your head around before gaining any benefit. As well as this the book also focuses a lot on the WKO+ software which is a tad pricey but very useful, but a lot of the concepts are applicable to other software packages such as golden cheetah.

Good product - but software needed too.

The book is worth the purchase price but buyers should be aware that to make realistic use of the book you need to buy the WKO+ software which sells for $129, The products really should be sold as a bundle. Also, the book is a bit technical & a bit hard to follow in places.
