Shimano 6800 Ultegra Wheelset is a tubeless compatible rim that is both durable and lightweight. The offset rim and wide flange offers superior power transfer to the back wheel and greater lateral rigidity.

This is my second pair of Shimano 6800 wheels that I have purchased from PBK. I bought my first pair for my road bike and bought a second pair for my cyclocross bike. PBK had the best price that I could get. Shipping is a little longer to the U.S. but I was not in any hurry. I purchase most of my cycling parts from PBK and have for some time now.
Or that's what I have heard. And they were right. Good price with an excellent ride. Far more of a solid and professional feel than my last set. Not the lightest (nor the heaviest) in the world but I'm competing only with myself. They'll do just fine, thank you..
Like many products that do two things (clincher and tubeless), these wheels do neither well. They look lovely, but these are the first set of wheels I've owned where I've had to use tire leavers to mount a set of clinchers - tires are horribly difficult to get on and off. I will likely relegate them to my "summer" bike and fair-weather rides, where there's little chance of a puncture - I can't even imagine struggling to change a tire on these hoops on a dark, wet ride in the middle of winter....
This wheel set is a great replacement wheel. I had a set of Bontrager race lights that I was using as every day wheels and was never happy with how they felt. These wheels have added a little fun back to the bike. They are snappy and have a crisp transfer of power. I have been impressed by the smooth feel and quick response to my pedal stroke. There is usually nothing sexy about your every day training wheels but these bring a little more to the table. They are just as comfortable in a sprint as they are in a long climb. This really is a great wheel for this price and I would buy them again in a heart beat.
The 6800 Ultegra wheels arrive in Colorado 7 days after my order was placed. Well packaged and free from damage. As an engineer I think the wheels are very well build and lighter than any previous clincher road wheels I've owned. The skewers seemed heavy and found they weighed 120 g for the set (decided not to change them for something lighter. Installing Conti 4000 tires was tough - had to use tire levers. Since found the wheels are larger in diameter than most wheels. They ride very nice but on a rough road could feel lots of vibration (shows the wheels are rigid); I will probably drop my size 23 tire pressure from 105 to 100 PSI and perhaps try size 25 tires for my next set of tires.
Recieved Ultegra 6800 wheelset... Packaged very poorly. Had them professionally installed.. Immediately notice excessive cassette wobble... Contacted Shimano who said there shouldnt be any at all. Contact Probikekit and communication was poor to say the least... Wheels have zero miles on them... requested exchange after sending photos... no further communications occurred from probikekit. Return exhcange policy is horrible.
Been ovet a month and still haven't been able to see the new rims. Can't wait to try them out.
The professional reviews are spot on - for the money this wheelset is a steal. Very pleased with it - mounted Schwalbe tubeless tires on rims - went on and inflated first time, no hassles. Ride smooth and fast and true. Hubs are not as frictionless as ceramic but clearly solid built. Wheels climb and descend very well - hold their speed - set some PRs and a KOM - which surprised me. Expecting to get years of service from these.
Wheels are a great value. Roll nice and support the beating that you give them during winter training. I use clinchers on these and please note that they are VERY TIGHT to get on to the rim...if you have a tighter bead then don't use them on this rim.
This is the third set of Ultegra wheels we've purchased. This set (6800) is even better than the 6700 series. Wheels are light, solid, and true, and work well with tubeless road tires. Mounting seems a little easier than with the old sets - or maybe I'm just getting better at the process. At any rate, we regard Ultegra wheelsets as perfect - as avid cyclists (not racers). Great wheelset for all around riding.
Great price and performance Arrived 1 week after ordering to Midwest of US (Chicago area) No problems mounting my Michelin Pro4 Endurance 25mm tires w/ Vitorria Latex Tubes using instructions for latex tubes off of Velo News. Did not need any tire levers, but tires were already mounted on another wheelset Between tubes and wheelset, bike is snappier and rolls faster and smoother.
Third set of Shimano wheels, second set Ultegra. I am 6'5" and 240lbs, not your typical cyclists. Never had a broken spoke and wheels stay true. I ride mostly rails to trails in Iowa. Wheels are responsive and do not flex too much when hammering the pedals. I like the drain holes and wear indicators. I can see the trickle down technology from Dura Ace since the Ultegra 6700's I had before, they went with a past bike. Not too flashy and do what they are supposed too. Running with tubes, I love my Continental Grand Prix 4000's.
Wanted to upgrade my Giant TCR from stock wheels to a high level alloy. After two 30+ mile rides i do feel a difference and i am very happy with the purchase of this wheelset and the price was great! This was my first purchase with PBK. I was very happy with the price, the website, and the care that was taken to ship the wheels.
Light, smooth, understated, real quality, great value. Excellent wheels for the money.
Great Wheel upgrade. The price was absolutely unbeatable. The wheels arrived very true, and have remained that way after about 150 miles so far. The claimed weight is accurate according to my scale, and the rear wheel hub is quiet, which I found to be surprising. The appearance, I would say is very high end, yet understated. The ultegra logo looks nice, without bright colors burning your retinas to make sure you know who made it. The only negative point, is the weight of the skewers (58/63g according to my scale)...not that I am all that critical about the weight of everything, and the function is excellent, but for something bearing the ultegra logo, it would be nice to see this improved. If saving weight is in you list of criteria for this wheel upgrade, you can easily save some there.
I've been a recreational rider for 30 yrs. I've been riding Mavic Elites for 4+ yrs. These Ultegra wheels are responsible for a 1/2 - 3/4 of a mile/hr faster. Smooth and very rigid. Loves these wheels. Only negative is it is very difficult to put tires on.
The very lowest price on this set of wheels that I could find anywhere. They arrived much more quickly than I would have thought possible and they were in perfect condition.I couldn't be more pleased.
Great wheelset for the price. I bought to run tubeless for cyclocross. With 3 wraps of stan's yellow tape i got panaracer crossblaster tires to seal up just fine. I rode them at 30 psi without any noticeable burps or air loss, have not raced on them yet though. The stan's rubber rim strip might provide a better seal but i have not tried that. I could push the tire bead off the rim easily but no air would escape. I also ride stan's alpha 340 wheelset and I cannot push the tire bead off that rim at all. I weigh 165 lbs. for reference. The only negative for this wheelset is that the supplied valves do not have removable cores for adding sealant or inflating tubeless. If you really want to go tubeless for cx I would get a stan's alpha wheelset, this ultegra wheelset is a road tubeless design.
I purchased this wheelset as an upgrade to the Aksium wheels that came with my Giant TCR. I am a big guy, weighing 195 lbs, and I had some issues with occasional broken spokes on the Aksiums. At the time of this writing I have a couple hundred miles on the Ultegra set, and am very happy with them. Very smooth rolling, and no indication I will have spoke issues, and no indication of them losing their trueness. I would buy them again.
The wheel set is awesome; the price was the lowest on the Internet and the set was delivered within a week. What more could one ask for?
