Mavic's professional teams help them develop the ultimate products required by pro riders.

Trueto its precedent of offering the high end technologies usually reserved for only top of the line models, the Ksyrium Elite S takes another step forward to achieve weight savings matched by only a few wheels. This performance is enhanced even more with new extra light Yksion Pro tyres. Stunning performance and looks at incredible value.

Key Features:

  • Mavic Wheel-Tyre system provides the ideal match of products and a clean aesthetic.
  • Includes 2 Yksion Comp tyres; Single compound tyre, Casing 120 TPI, Dimension 700x23c (23-622), Max Pressure 9 bar / 130 psi, Weight 210g (per tyre, manufacturer claimed).
  • Force Transfer System reinforces the connection between hub body and pawl, increasing efficiency of transmission.
  • SUP rims are arc welded for extreme strength.
  • CNC milled braking surfaces to eliminate shudder when braking.
  • Lightweight Maxtal aluminium alloy rims provide excellent strength-to-weight ratio.
  • Isopulse system on the rear wheel uses radially laced spokes on the drive side and crossed spokes on the non-drive side to provide better spoke tension between left and right flanges.
  • Fore technology leaves upper rim bridge un-drilled, with spoke nipples screwed directly into the lower bridge. This makes the rim 4 times more resistant to fatigue stress and 20% more rigid.
  • GripLink front tyre uses a dual compound optimised to maximise grip on the road, with a nylon anti-puncture breaker.
  • PowerLink rear tyre uses a dual compound optimised for excellent energy transfer and low rolling resistance, with a nylon anti-puncture breaker.
  • Weights: 1520 grams for wheels, 2060 grams including tyres, tubes and skewers (manufacturer claimed).
  • This wheelset has clincher rims.

Had 2007 Elites on a Scott CR1 SL I thought these were great wheels (never needed truing or the bearings need tweaking) at about 19,000 miles stress chips began to appear on the front wheel, so rode them on for another 1000 miles, just to round up the mileage then replaced them with the new Elite S`s The new version is lighter, better balanced, and for me, are faster (2-3 mph) at higher speeds! so when I would cruise at 22/23mph now with the `S`,s am looking at 25/26!! I honestly don’t feel that they accelerate faster from low speeds, but they must be as they are lighter? As a bonus I think the Yksion Comp tyres are also good, seem to be coping with the general bad road conditions riding into London very well. Mavic claim the new Elites are 4 times more resistant to fatigue! I don’t think I have 80,000 miles in me? So Elite S wheels are for life? buy them from Probikekit (when they have a deal on or apply a voucher or two!) then ride them until your legs fall off.

Mavic

I spent 6 months looking for a new set of wheels. The choice I had was - Mavic Ksyrim Equipe, but these are a bit heaver than the Elites. The other wheels I looked at where the Fulcrum Racing 3 or Fulcrum 2 way. I was put of by so many people telling me they have problems with them. No one I spoke to has said anything bad about the Mavic ksyriums. So If you want a good set of wheels that are for high end training these are a must, they're fast enough and stiff in the bends - and look good too! Delivery was very good. I have fitter a 10 speed Also they came with the tyres and tubes fitted

Durable

Nice set of training wheels and tires. Rolls smooth. Very Durable like most Mavic wheelsets.
