Crud MK2

This is my 4th year on these mudguards, only issue was loosing the small grub srews, but used cable ties instead.. These are worth every cent. Light enough to ride with all year round, I just remove some sections, and when winter comes, especially in Vancouver, they work like a charm.. I highly recommend these as part of your biking kit. I would really like to try the MK3, but as there is plenty of life in these, I'm gonna wait.. So as far a reliability, weight, and functionality, nothing comes close.. I've recommended these to so many people, and they love em...

Work pretty well

I'm on my second set. For a road bike with minimal clearance they are pretty-much your only option. Why am I on my second set? - The rear mudguard, which as the packaging proudly exclaims, has been extended from the Mk1 design to protect following riders, is really very long and somewhat undersupported / fragile. The rearmost section broke off after less than a month, because at the end of my commute I had to lift up my front wheel to hang the bike off a hook. The tail section gets "pinched" quite often and because it is brittle plastic as opposed to say being a rubber flap, it doesn't take long for it to snap off from the stress. At which point you've got a stub-tailed mudguard that can actually fling muck up your back again. I ended up kludging together a makeshift duck-tail of electrical tape to fix this. - The front mudguard, which works superbly, was the victim of a stick flying through the spokes. As the whole thing is brittle plastic (there's a theme here), it snapped the joint between the support and the guard itself. Definitely room for a Mk3 with less brittleness, but like I said, they're pretty-much your only option on a road bike.

The mudguards seem to be of excellent quality. Again still not fitted waiting for frame to be delivered.

Much better than expected

The Crud mudguards are really good for keeping the wet and dirt off me. I originally orded them as a stop gap measure but have found that they are as good in many respects as a normal mudguard. I will probably order for my other vintage road bike.

Crud road racer fenders

These fenders are the best. They are light and keep your bike bike clean, which is a remarkable statement for someone who rides on winter roads in Canada covered with sand and salt.

Good, but....

These mudguards are a great idea and I was really hoping they would fit the rather unusual frame geometry of my Electra Sport bike. They didn't and I have sold them on. On a normal bike, though, I'm sure, and I've heard, they do a good job of keeping you dry. Delivery was quick and they were well packaged. Thanks.

Very flimsy

Didn't even last a whole season - and that's mostly just commuting. Rear "tail" broke 2 times, glued back but finally lost the part on a ride. They must make most of their money with spare parts :P

Outstanding

Best mudguards I've ever bought. Easy to fit once the instructions read and took about an hour. Very secure on the bike and and virtually no water or road muck now reaches me or the bike. Truly an amazing design that works in all weather's and no issues from vibrations/shocks from the state of the roads. 11 out of 10!

Works well.

I ordered these for my Giant Rapid 2 because no other fenders would fit with the very limited brake clearance. These installed easily enough, though the black plastic nuts were so small for my beefy fingers they kept slipping out of my hands and bouncing around on the dark hardwood floor it was frustrating. But installed, they worked fine. They are lightweight (interpret: flimsy), but you don't need a lot to deflect the water. This bike isn't meant to be used in heavy duty service and thus do not require heavy duty fenders. If you have a road bike and want to continue to ride when wet then these are great. I commute sometimes with this bike and a little afternoon shower isn't a big deal.
