Great cafe racer tyre for dry weather only!

Have tried offerings from Conti and Michelin and by comparison these were Easy to mount and look fantastic when standing still. Supple and light when on the move and decent grip in the dry. Cannot recommend these tyres in wet conditions. Breaking traction on climbs results in zero confidence on descents and corners. I suppose this is why Vittoria have developed a wet weather version of this tyre. Buy if you are a fair weather cyclist avoid if it rains occasionally when you ride

Outstanding Road Tyre

These tyres are the fastest and best i've used. They handle like a dream and compared to gatorksins, roll much faster. They do cut up and wear out a little quicker than continentals but they make up for it in speed and feel. Excellent racing tyre. If price isn't an issue these are the go.

Reduced vibration

I was at first apprehensive about cotton casing and their puncture resistance as I read that these tires should really be "special event" tires. I have used these now on my bike for 3 months and I have loved every ride. The ergoshifters on my bike used to rattle uncontrollably on rough road and I noticed a less rattled ride ever since I switched to these Vittorias. I love them and am now waiting to replace the tire on my 2nd bike. You will not be disappointed, but do pay attention to the warnings that these tires are not as puncture resistant as your Michelin Pro3Race - they are also more expensive, so I have chosen to put them on my favourite sunny day bike.

A great riding tire

These tires give a nicer ride compared to Michelin Pro 3 tires but they are more expensive and I find they don't last as long as the Michelin's. I strictly use mine only for racing because of this. They grip really well and soften a lot of the smaller bumps you encounter on the road. Plus, they have higher pressure rating than the Pro 3s for those of you that like to get the pressure up (just make sure your rims can take it!)

sure footed and fast

I have been using the evo CX both in the current 320 and previous 290 Tpi version for a number of years. I generally ride on the roads of Sussex and Surrey which are poorly maintained and have found the tyres to be very sure footed in all weather conditions throughout the year, very puncture resistant (total combined mileage on all 6 wheels in the last 12 months with these tyres is over 6000km and I have only had 5 punctures) and feel fast compared to other tyres that I have used. I don't feel that they wear particularly quickly although I no longer race so tend to be fairly gentle through the corners. The other tyres I have used in recent years include Conti GP4000S (repeated puncture issues) and Mich pro 2 (skitish).
I run them at 110 psi and I weigh 84kg

Excellent tire!

These tires are wonderful tires. Yes you pay for them but they ride like butter and have a decent life. I have never had any problems with the treat, the sidewall, etc. Wise choice for your race bike as you get what you pay for.

best tyres I've owned

These are a great set of tyres. You do get what you pay for

I would only recommend using them for important events though, be it races or sportives. they do wear very quickly!

Very very nice tires

These tires grip well wear well and on this site are a great price they also have a cool colour-way

Great tyre for clean roads

Vittoria Open Corsa Evo CX tyres are a brilliant tyre, the feel you get from a cotton case 320 tpi tyre is like no other tyre I have ridden. They are very very grippy, do not crack with age and have good puncture protection. Their down fall is the price and the wear. They wear quite fast compared to other brands especially if you are a hill climber.
I find with Michelin and Continental tyres they crack over time and just don't have the same feel or grip. I have tried others but now stick to Vittoria's.
The life of my Open Corsa's prematurely ended at 2,300km's because they had some large cuts in them from road debris, otherwise I think I could have stretched their life to around 3,000km's.
In summary, a fantastic tyre for sure footed climbing or descending and for tight circuit crits you will be taking corners faster than anyone else on other branded tyres. Buy them from PBK and save a packet load compared to your LBS.

Get Vittoria Open Corsa's if you want the best!

Absolutely the best tyre I have ever ridden. The grip is truly incredible. For tight criteriums you will corner faster than anyone else. It's difficult to describe the feel these tyres give, they are supple, smooth rolling and don't dry out and crack like other brands over time.
Puncture resistance is brilliant, have only had 1 puncture with these tyres and am now on my third set. The only downfall to these tyres is price and longevity. The life of my tyres was cut short due to road debris (glass) slicing up my tyres. I managed to get 2,300km's out of them.
Highly recommended tyre if you want a smooth supple, safe ride with reassurance when cornering fast and descending.
