The Michelin Power Competition road tyre offers improved speed in competitions. Dedicated to road races with classifications, the Power Competition is made from the new Race Compound (which originates from technology used in Moto GP) to increase efficiency and speed. The compound also ensures low loss of energy caused by rubber deformation, without compromising on grip performance.
The top of the tyre casing has reinforced Aramid Protek protection to offer +13% puncture resistance compared to the predecessor. Michelin found that the majority of riders change their tyres before they fail, so each tyre in the Power range has TWI (Tread Wear Indicators) to highlight when your tyres will need replacing. The Disc Brake Ready design increases the grip of the tyre to ensure optimal braking performance.

When Michelin first introduced the new Competition tire I got on board and have used this tire exclusively since. I was consistently getting 900+miles without much issue regarding flats. On a positive note, it is a fast tire and looks impressive. However, I had a sidewall blowout on the rear tire with about 500 miles a week ago. I thought Ok this is an anomaly so I just replaced that with another brand new Michelin Competition tire. Well I had another sidewall blowout yesterday but this time the tire had only 111 miles (Strava tracked). I always pump the tires to 115 lbs since I weigh about 220 lbs. I am very disappointed in the Michelin Competition tire. Perhaps they had a bad batch but I don't care. I have a brand new tire left over and I am not even going to put these on. I have lost all confidence in the Michelin Competition and now looking at other brands.
Have used the tyres for 3 months and so far quite impressed. Using the 25mm tyres and previously have been on both 23mm and 25mm conti gp4000sII; the Michelins do feel more supple/comfy. It feels as fast as the conti’s including cornering grip. Only difference I could tell is while climbing, I need to shift more weight to the back to prevent wheel slippage, didn’t seem to have this issue with the conti’s; not a big issue though. Durability seems pretty good as I have not had any tyre cuts or punctures with the daily commuting (all weather) plus weekend rides. Have even taken it on a gravel ride through fire trails with rocky ground. They inflate to 27mm on my old 15mm internal width wheels and 27.5mm on my new 19mm internal width wheels FYI for those worried about frame clearances.
First time trying Michelin tires, just put them on so time will dictate how well they perform
I have been using Michelin tires for well over 20 years, these tire rock, they even coast faster..My present set 700x25 have over 3500 miles thats over 5600 k..There worn but still have some life left in them according to the wear indicator.. A great option for more speed and pedaling ease
