good budget tire

4

I'm no tire snob - I try to pay <$30 for my rubber. These seem to have done well by me. I do wait till they are on sale, but then they seem like a great deal. No big issues. I've tried the various less expensive Vittoria tires too, not much difference in wear/performance at least to me. ( I'm getting about 1.5K miles out of the rear tire...roughly )

Good value training tyre

4

A perfect tyre for training and racing. Very durable tires, done almost 2000km on them and no signs of wear. Even used then on the trainer with no problems. Great value.

Two flats

2

Less than 50 miles on Chicago streets, two flats within a week, one on each tire. Flat #1 (front) was a tiny piece of glass which went straight through the tire. Flat #2 (rear) was a light-weight office staple, straight through the tire.

Both were slow leaks, not immediate due to the tiny size of the objects that easily permeated the surface of these tires. In both cases I returned to my bike to find a complete flat, and then discovered the cause upon changing the tube.

Not really sure what to say about these tires. i thought they were an inexpensive substitute for the far more expensive Continental line (Gatorskins, 4-season, etc). But, the flats, and the causes of the flats, say otherwise.

I can't imagine riding 10,000 miles (as a reviewer on this thread said) without a flat, on any bike, any tire, any tube, or any surface, in any temperature - sorry, I simply don't buy it - let alone on these tires, which don't hold up to office staples.

Good tires

I use them as training tires but they are suitable for racing. Those are resistant but a little bit slippery in wet condition. Hard to beat for the price...

Good Tyre

4

I found easier to install than previous tyres on my bike. Although it seemed a bit of a tight fit initially.
I really like that the colour matches my yellow bike. No punctures as yet, and even survived a trip on off road gravel.

Pros Good value, Colour coordination to bike

Pressures too low

3

These tires seem to roll ok and for the price the weight is ok. The biggest issue with them is the pressure. The have a maximum inflation pressure of 116psi which is too low. Combined bike a rider weight is under 80kg and still the tire feels so soft that is like I have a flat. I was constantly checking that the tire wasn't deflating further.

Good until the first puncture

3

Internal reinforcement belt to help to prevent a puncture proved to be of no much help in contact with a tiny piece of glass. Soft as butter.
It's hard to remove a tyre to replace a tube.

Surprisingly good for the price

4

I bought these as backup tyres but I ended up using them on my city bike for the summer and they've held up surprisingly well. No punctures thus far, and while they don't feel as fast as a proper racing tyre, they're a fine training tyre.
