Being the successor of the GP4000S II, a tyre considered by many to be the best all-round road tyre ever made, the GP5000 had a lot to live up to. Thankfully, true to their reputation of continuous innovation, Continental has delivered an even lighter, faster tyre which offers more grip and puncture protection than any other to date.

Designed with the latest iteration of Continental’s legendary Black Chili rubber compound, the Grand Prix 5000 TL offers an extra 5% reduction in rolling resistance and a 5% increase in puncture protection compared with a regular clincher GP5000. Thanks to the proprietary Laser Grip Technology which creates a micro tread pattern that expands over the shoulder of the tyre, the GP5000 TL offers incredible all-weather grip, giving you the confidence to take even the most technical corners at speed. In this tubeless iteration, you can run the GP5000 at even lower pressures for maximum comfort and grip out on the road.

Continental believes a comfortable tyre is a fast tyre – which is why the GP5000 now comes in a 32c width and is constructed with Active Comfort Technology to help smooth the sharpest shocks from the roughest roads. Lined with the tear-resistant but ultra-lightweight Vectran fibres, the GP5000 sets new standards for puncture protection in road bike tyres. If you decide to run this tyre tubeless, you get even more puncture protection, perfect for riding and racing over very rough roads.

Lightest tubless tyre

Bought for this season hill climbs to drop more weight from the rig ,they are so light and roll fantastic and will buy another set for my other bike for next years tt bike for the new season.

Plush

You can spend a ton of money, for ride comfort, speed, and cornering, these is the best bang for the buck out there. From my new road bike, making an impression on local Strava segments, to my wife’s beater.

Continental GP5000 Tubeless Tyres

Urgently need a new set of tyres, in stock and at a great price. GP5000 is a great tyre highly recommended if going tubeless.

Great tires

I've been riding these for about 5000 miles now. They are quite long lasting, and yet seem to have low rolling resistance. They are very tight on my rims, however--for me, I found tire levers are not quite enough to get them mounted the first time, so I got a tire bead Jack, which made it much easier. But perhaps my rims are just very tight.

Like butter

The tube less Ride like smooth summer breeze. So far so good.

Caution

Thought I did my due diligence when I purchased these tires. Read many reviews and ratings which said this was the best overall tubeless road tire available. Unfortunately my wheels do NOT have a hook bead which is required (stamped on the sidewall but not mentioned in any specs that I read). My bad.

The best TL tyres

After riding about 800km, this the best pair of tyres had have.

GP 5000 Tubeless

Great tires, easy to mount on Mavic Ksyrium Elite UST rims. I am using them tubeless with sealant. These are the second set of tires on these rims, the original Mavic Yksion Pro's which came with the rims were good, but wore out quickly. The GP 5000's are a major improvement over the GP 4000's, the sidewall is MUCH thicker and they are engineered tubeless. They mounted easily and the bead seated with a regular floor pump. I've got about 500 miles on this set with no punctures so far and no noticeable wear. The GP 5000's roll better than the original tires and the GP 4000's (tube) I had on older Mavic Ksyrium (tube) rims. All in all a major upgrade!

No better than the 4000s

They are fine. I have never really loved the Continental GP line but figured I would try the new ones. They mounted up great no issues there roll nice but not super fast, grab nice but aren't awesome. Seem to be durable but time will tell. They are a great tire if you can get them on discount but I would never pay full price for them, there are just better out there in the 65-85 range.

Not bad.

Came without original packaging, just sealed in plastic. Tire is original though. No complaints otherwise.
