Love these tires

I ride about 6000 miles a year and I have used the Hardshells for the last three. They truely are puncture resistent. The two flats I had, occured only after the tires tred was warn thin. If you like worry free cycling, get a set of these.

Excellent Everyday Tire

I have ridden these tires on my single speed track bike for years now, and it's hard to find a better option. The only thing I would add is the "black chili" compound that Continental uses on some of their other tires. That extra stickiness would be nice.

Great Road Tire

You have to remember to break these tires in when new since the rubber is so hard that it has mediocre traction until the surface layer is broken. But then they have excellent traction. In California the roads are so bad that there is little difference in some areas between the roads and rocky mountain paths. And they are littered with everything from steel wires from worn out steel tread tires to broken whiskey bottles. The Gatorskin resists these MUCH better than any other tire I've used.

Great autumn / winter tyre

Good puncture resistance, good grip and fairly quick tyre. Only downside is they are not the easiest to put on, but thats worth putting up for because of the benefits...and they look good on.

Superb all rounder

I do a great deal of dirt riding and what some people would even consider mountain biking on my road bike. Back when men were men and the roads were unpaved. These tires have stood up to many a beating and rock garden on dirt climbs and even fared well in road racing. For a dependable tire that will allow you to venture off that pavement and onto the fire road you're always wondered where it led, pick up a pair of these Gators. Plus the rubber smells tasty when you're mounting 'em up new out the box. Cheers and keep the rubber side down.

Continental Hardshells

I've been running these in 25mm for over 3 years now. A week ago I had my first puncture. That is over 40,000km with only one puncture. I've been riding for over 20 years and no other tyre has come close. To make it even better they still roll fine and grip in the wet. Why bother with other tyres?
