"...should carry on rolling long after the opposition" - Review by Cycling Plus February 2012
-
Since their launch in 2007 these entry level wheels have been found on a lot of the most highly rated bikes we've reviewed. They're a carbon free zone and not the lightest, but the Racing 7s make up for this by being tough hoops that should carry on rolling long after the opposition have given up the ghost. They have oversized hubs, steel bearings that run smoothly and highly tensioned steel spokes laced radially, the rear 24, with 16 on the driveside-but both sides are evenly tensioned-keeping the rims true longer.

Make for a great training tire. - Review by MuZI

I got a pair of these with my new Specialized bike. They are well built and solid but at almost 2,000g (4.4lbs) they're a bit on the heavy side. I have been using them as training wheels and they work great for that purpose.

Great training wheels - Review by phil

Rode on some rough roads and these wheels are still as true as new. A bit on the heavy side, but hey, that's what training wheels are for.

Strong Smooth wheelset for racking up the miles - Review by monkeymajik
-
Bought these as my wet weather and trainer wheelset. They are perfect for that purpose.
Straight and true out of the box, quiet freewheel and still straight after many miles of abuse. If you are looking for a good, cheap and reliable wheelset, it's hard to look past these. Preferred over WH-R500 which I have owned.

bullet proof - Review by Noel
-
The bearings on the Racing 7's are smooth, nice looking and bullet proof..
Im 155lb rider and roads here in Toronto are not the most ideal for road bikes..however these wheels perform very well.. so far after 1800 kms of abuse the wheels are still true.. they are entry level.. but solid...
I figure, instead of upgrading to 5's or 3's which are lighter in weight.. I'll just loose some pounds ...

Good Training Wheels - Review by Marshall
-
I bought a pair of these for training and everyday riding. You can't beat the price and quality. They are a little heavy for racing but if you have two sets and use these for training and lighter ones for racing your off to a good start. Solid entry level wheels with a good price.

Affordable Wheels - Review by David
-
The Fulcrum Racing 7 wheels are as durable as they are inexpensive. I have abused mine for two winter seasons of training and they are still going strong. The bearings are not the greatest, but the press-in style makes replacement quick, easy, and relatively inexpensive. The replacement bearings have also lasted much longer. The wheels are reasonably stiff, the braking is consistent and good, and the price is hard to beat. The wheels are quite heavy and as mentioned before the bearings that come with the wheels are not exceptionally durable.
Overall, it's hard to find a better deal for a pre-built wheelset. Given the weight they do not make for the best racing wheels - despite the name. However, for daily training and riding these are a great value.

Ok, but should have upgraded - Review by Lini
-
These wheels came standard on my road bike.
Wheels looks very nice and performs probably just like a lot of entry level wheelsets. However, the price is only a little lower (at least on pbk) than the Fulcrum 5 which I have found to be a much better wheelset. So I wish I had upgraded the wheels when I first ordered my bike.
Used the Racing 7 for about a season until I bought pretty much brand new pair of Racing 5 secondhand.
I suspect a lighter rider than myself would have a better experience of the racing 7!
