Product Overview

The evolution of perfection. The removal of traditional mechanical cables in favour of electrical wires, not only eliminates poor shifting caused by contaminants, corrosion and stretching, but provides effortless gear shifts.

Key Features:

  • To ensure that the signal goes from the shifter to the derailleurs, the reliability of the electric cable has been proven by repeated field tests in various riding conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, mud, and cobble stone roads.
  • Dura-Ace Di2 requires 2 cables: a handlebar cable set to connect the shifters to a battery indicator junction box or FlightDeck, and the other to connect the handlebar cable to the battery and derailleurs.
  • The handlebar cable set is available in two types: one for use without a FlightDeck computer instead using a simple junction box to display battery life; the other is for use with FlightDeck.
  • This handlebar cable set for non-FlightDeck use has specifically been developed to use with the TT spec ST-7971 and SW-7971 shifters and switches.
  • Handlebar cables should not be cut to size or modified in any way.
  • Reliable and secure water resistant connectors.

Needs improvement but Di2 still rules over all other gruppos - Review by Duncan

Love Di2...but - You need this if you want to setup Di2. it needs refinement.... Because it is one dedicated unit you are limited in how you can internally route it on a TT bar or handlebar. The central unit (the little unit that allows gear tweaking and battery feedback) is not going to fit through any narrow apertures and the junctions for the R and L sides are a little cumbersome (the little condensed plastic joins). If you could dismantle it in sections it would be perfect. I am sure Shimano will refine this, very soon...buy it but expect it to be improved and the upgrade a no-brainer (despite cost).
