Worth considering if you're shopping this price range - Review by bacmapei

In researching my purchase, it seems that most buyers were switching from cantis. Improved braking and decreased fork shutter were all stated as reasons for switching. In my case, my bike was already equipped with Tektro’s RX-6 mini-v brakes. I can’t objectively say that the money spent on the CX-9 decreased my braking distances - the RX-6 stopped my bike just fine. The main difference is the ease of adjustment. From the more substantial spring with its hex key adjustment screw to the spacers on the brake pad arms, I was able to install the brakes and dial in the adjustment very easily. The resulting benefit is better brake lever feel (for both the STI-levers and cross tops).
Bike: 2008 Specialized Tricross Comp
Levers: Shimano 105 (ST-5600) and TRP RL-951
