The Pro Team choice. Tacx's newest trainer. The Satori is the super power trainer for Pro Tour teams. Its sturdy ergonomic frame stands rock-steady on the floor.

The brake consists of a very powerful Neodynium magnet and an extra-large steel flywheel. The position of the magnet relative to the flywheel is adjusted with the 10-position remote resistance lever. This gives rise to a magnetic field of such magnitude that it enables training to take place at unbelievably high power with low pedalling frequencies. A front wheel support (skyliner) which doubles as a carrying handle is included.

Key Features:

  • Powerful Neodynium magnetic brake with an extra large steel flywheel.
  • Extremely high resistance at low pedalling frequency.
  • SoftGel roller with stainless steel running surface.
  • Sound-deadening and wear-resistant.
  • Quick release lever; one-off setting.
  • Resistance lever with indication scale.

High level magnetic resistance

High level magnetic resistance makes this a useful even for low cadence strength training. Why would you buy the Satori over the myriad of other trainers out there? For me, the main reason would be for the high level of magnetic resistance you get here – Tacx reckon you can generate 400w at 27kph (17mph).
To give that some practical context, when I set the resistance as high as it would go and shifted into the highest gear on the bike, I was struggling to turn the pedals at 35rpm. And that was with a compact chainset. If you have a standard chainset, it’ll obviously be even harder to turn the pedals. I’ve not tried any other turbo at this price that can provide anything like this level of resistance.

Easy to setup

I bought this Turbo Trainer in the Summer of 2011 and used it a lot over the Winter Months, it has held up very well, very good for the 2- 3 hours I do in it while watching recordings of Le tour or Giro,,,Very Highly Recommended, not noisy at all really.

Does the job.

Of course this isnt the greatest out there, but for me as an amateur its good. My wheel spins a little when accelerating, but maybe a dedicated rear tire will prevent that. 10 "gears" , and makes some noise, but not too much. Steady for me as a heavy rider:)

Sturdy and smooth!

So far so good. I'm tall and lean, and the Satori feels fairly rock solid when in or out of the saddle. The fly-wheel maintains that smooth (almost-road-like) feel for sustaining your off-season fitness level. Set-up is fairly straight forward as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Satori!!

Nice trainer

Works great for training during the winter months.
10 resistance settings for variation
Not noiseless but definitely not too noisy either.
Quite fun and efficient when used with Tacx DVDs
