Uvex Ultasonic helmet
The Uvex Ultrasonic Race Cycling Helmet is great! It's very, very light! At first I thought my old Catlike Whisper Plus or my Bell Sweep felt better on my head but then I realized that fit was not a concern because you don't feel like you're wearing anything. It's so lightweight. My old helmets kind of felt molded to the shape of my head. The Uvex on the other hand kind of only touches lightly. It's strange but it's like it's not there. Just adjust the the wheel tensioner on the rear of helmet and you're good to go. The Catlike allows a little more airflow around the top of my head but my forehead would get very wet (but no dripping onto my eyewear). The Uvex because of some small V shaped grooves around the forehead area allows air to flow into the helmet in that area and helps keep me a good bit dryer. No sweat dripping onto my eyewear either (always had a stream of sweat on my lenses with Bell Sweep). In general the airflow is pretty good. I like the fact that the tension of the strap under my chin can be adjusted by 1 centimeter or so while the helmet is on. The lock mechanism is a male/female insert that can be inserted all the way or partly in small increments. One button release is also simpler that than traditional "Squeeze" type latches. Helmet appearance is much less bulky looking than most including my other two. My only complaint (minor) is that the plastic strap around the back of my head can occasionally make a slight clicking noise going over bumpy roads (would be 5 star otherwise). I must like this helmet a lot since I no longer wear my other ones which had worked very well in the past. It's the best helmet I've ever owned.
