The Original Wind and Rain Resistant Cycling Jacket
There are many like it, but why use an imitator when you can have the original Gabba. For the Autumn/Winter 2023, Castelli have made further refinements and improvements to the jacket that that started a new category. Wind and rain resistant, the Gabba RoS 2 and the Perfetto RoS 2 jackets are the perfect item of clothing for keeping you warm and dry on long, winter base rides or even races (whether it’s a Spring Classic or a local criterium). If you are looking for protection during windy and rainy conditions, then these are the garments for you. Like we’ve said, there are many imitators and similar wind/rain resistant jackets these days, but the Gabba created this whole category.
Free Aero
Building on the success of Castelli’s Free Aero bib shorts, the Italian brand have introduced the Free Aero bib tight. The bib tight version uses the same slimline bib straps as the Free Aero bib tight, to minimise the bulk. But the full-leg tight version is ideal for performing and training during the colder months. Incorporating a back pocket, these tights bring convenience and practicality to those long days on the saddle.
Unlimited Potential
Castelli’s autumn/winter collection also includes the brand’s Unlimited gravel range. Including a jersey, bib shorts, gloves, and a specific Unlimited Perfetto Ros 2 jacket. While you might be thinking that any road kit will be good for gravel riding—as with all things— specific equipment for the job is more effective, and the Unlimited range is specifically designed for gravel rides. The range uses more durable materials, with less of a focus on lightweight fabric. Gravel riding is inherently more unpredictable than road riding and the chance of snagging your jersey on protruding shrubbery is very high, to counter this Castelli have reinforced the areas most likely to be caught by branches (the shoulders and the sleeves) with snag and abrasion resistant fabric. Similarly, the Unlimited bib shorts have more focus on comfort and endurance. They offer a more relaxed fit and include pockets on the back for extra storage space—for those big gravel days, too much storage isn’t a thing!
