Deda stems state that they have a 31.7mm clamp diameter but the precise measurement for the clamp diameter is 31.75mm which most manufacturers round up to 31.8mm but Deda round down to 31.7mm. So a Deda stem will fit 31.8mm handlebars.

big shoes to fill..
I think the old Newton Pista stem is still better looking, but the new stem is certainly lighter without being flexy. It's a good replacement for the proven legend.
