Giro d'Italia Stage 6

The sixth stage of the Giro d'Italia is another flat race, making it a key time for the sprinters to come up.

The sixth race goes from Mola di Bari to Margherita di Savoia and is 169km long. The course rides along the Italian coast giving the riders flat road to contend with.

The main contenders are Mark Cavendish for Omega Sharp-Quick Step and Bradley Wiggins for Team Sky. The main aim is to avoid any crashes and loosing time, so the teams will ensure that the front runners are protected and avoid any time delays.

Some of today's events in stage 6:

  • Bradley Wiggins was held up by a crash 31km from the end. The road was completely blocked by pile-up.
  • Mark Cavendish want this to be his second win on flat stage.
