The route today saw riders cycling from Tarvisio on a relatively flat route which gradually builds to the 6th Mountain stage of the Giro d'Italia, finally finishing in Vajont (Erto E Casso) . The peloton encountered a massive climb with 5% incline and reaching 1790m altitude.

After another grueling day out on the Italian mountains, Garmin-Sharp's 25 year old Ramunas Navardauskas took victory with a time of 4.23.14, with Daniel Oss following in second place.

In other news Bradley Wiggins chances are slipping slowly away due to health conditions, as he seems to have developed a cold and chest infection. We will see who takes the lead in tomorrow's flat stage, with sprinter Mark Cavendish looking to claim another victory in stage 12.
