The Campagnolo Neutron Ultra Wheelset is designed for every condition. The geometry of the polygonal rim is both comfortable and responsive around the bends. The Rear Rim includes asymmetrical drilling for the perfect alignment of the nipples and hub for increased spoke tension, with no weak points.

Milled low, profile rims reduce the peripheral weight of the rim, while also improving response and speed. Straight-head steel spokes in variable sections provide maximum torsional stiffness, this provides the best aerodynamics and stability at high speeds. - A.D.

Key Features:

  • Aluminium shallow profile (approximately 20mm deep) clincher rims with polygonal design have have a welded join and are machined to remove excess weight for a quicker, lighter and stronger wheel
  • Asymmetric rear rim is laterally stiffer and stronger to transfer all your effort to the road
  • Stainless steel spokes are bladed and butted creating a lighter, stronger and more aero profile
  • Carbon and aluminium hub bodies are strong and lightweight to keep you rolling mile after mile
  • Standardised cup and cone style front and rear bearings use grade 10 stainless steel bearings (4 x 15 sets of 5/32"balls) for a long lasting, smooth hub which is easily adjustable and serviceable
  • Monolithic Campagnolo specific freehub body
  • Please note these wheels are clincher, they will only accept clincher tyres (not included)
  • Please note these wheels come with a Campagnolo specific freehub design, this will only work with Campagnolo cassettes

Great all rounders

What can I say that hasn't already been said. These are my 2nd set of Neutrons, the first set departing on a bike I sold. I just had to grab another set - these are brilliant all round wheels. Sturdy and solid, yet rrespectably light (without being crazy light). They give a great ride quality, they spin up to speed well and they are great climbing. I love the virtually silent freewheel. and the look fanstastic!!!

Fantastic Value on Excellent Alloy Climbers

I purchased these from PBK back in 2013. They have held up extremely well. I generally slap these on my bike mid-summer, when the snow has melted off the mountain passes, when I want a lighter wheelset that gives me the security of an alloy braking surface. I generally weigh around 77kg/170# this time of year. I am estimating that I have around 11000 km/ 7000 mi on these and have yet to break a spoke or even need a truing. I don't put out Cavendish-esque wattage, but the roads I have traveled on this wheelset are rarely smooth, due to numerous rock slide zones, etc. Numerous bunny hops. While I would never use Neutron Ultras on my time trial bike, they do feel slightly more aero than other shallow alloy wheels I own. One very minor quibble is that the actual weight came out to be about 60 grams higher (for the entire set) than quoted. The current PBK price on this wheelset is an exceptional deal. Anybody that has been sitting on the fence should jump on this deal. I live in the NW USA and these arrived in, IIRC, 8 days. Zero complaints, as always!

Campagnolo Neutron Ultra Wheelset - Clincher

Just spent a week end riding hills and flats with new Neutron Ultra Wheelset. Just had a great time. Really quiet on the road and so smooth. Managed my best time on the descent as well as the ascent of the local "col". Performs better than my more expensive tubulars and the braking is so predictable. May well buy another pair for my training bike.

Campy and Probikekit: a perfect match.

I live in the US and here, especially out west, Campagnolo isn't easy to acquire. Most LBS carry Shimano and SRAM and don't see the value in this this storied component manufacturer. I have been searching for a quality wheelset for quite awhile and was able to find what I needed at an excellent price. Shipping was extremely fast--less than a week--and the wheels were perfect right out of the box. My Cervelo looks amazing and my climbing has improved because of my new wheels. Thank you.

Beautiful Alloy Clincher

As with all Campagnolo wheels I've used, these wheels spin up beautifully and these wheels are a dream on hills with low weight & hubs that just seem to spin. The only downside seems to be that mounting tyres is a bit of a struggle, but that also means they're secure once on.

fantastic ride!

i thought i had gone to "clincher wheel heaven" between my dura ace 1380',s and my mavic ksyriums sl's. but, they are not even close. the neutrons may be a drop heavier than both, but feel faster on both the flats, and the hills. only complaint is i am scared of being alone on a country raod, and getting a flat. the rims are so tight it is difficult to set the bead, but, i also think that being so tight adds to the fast ride.

Fabulous looking, superb wheelset for racers

The Neutrons are impressively constructed, with carbon and aluminium hub bodies. The heads of the straight-pull spokes are hidden inside them, and the rear drive-side spokes are thicker to better handle pedalling loads.

The front rim is lighter than the rear and drilled for angled spoke entry, while the rear is drilled asymmetrically, with all spokes entering the rim on the non-drive-side to improve lateral rigidity. The outer rim wall isn’t drilled, and the inner wall is milled to lighten it.

Though not the lightest, on the road the Neutrons display urgent acceleration when sprinting, and they eat up climbs. The ride feels rm and unforgiving, but the payoff is an agile, ultra responsive wheelset that’s surefooted on its 20mm rims, but oozes class.

These wheels proved tough to t tyres onto. Simple pop-off plastic dust caps cover the Allen key-adjustable hub bearings. Supplied with wheel bags, a service and a maintenance booklet.

Awesome wheels

I have used various wheel sets. Always thought they were great until I bought these. These wheels have been the best wheels I have ever used. i do lots of climbing, so they work great for that, and find I have no problems on long flat rides. I would recommend these wheels to anyone who does lots of climbing. Light, stiff and roll smooth.

Many reviews say how they are so difficult to mount tires on. While they are harder, they are not that much more difficult. I use Continental GP 4000s, and they seem to work fine.

Only negative is to true the wheel the bike store will have to remove the tire, tube and rim tape. Bit of a pain. (I've yet to true these wheels after a year's riding.)

The overall weight of 1529g is reasonable for the price

....performance is exemplary, serving up urgent acceleration on the sprints and flying up the hills.

Fitting some tyres is tricky and the ride quality is firm, but the payoffs worth while-these are agile, surefooted and responsive. They ooze class and come with wheelbags and a maintenance booklet.

Great wheels

I really like these wheels. I regularly race and train on them and they tick all the boxes. They feel fast, are light enough, and they seem to be durable.
Why put up with the reduced braking performance offered by most carbon clinchers when you can use a wheel like these?
