While most will recognize the tubular wheels as the go-to choice for top professional riders, the fact remains that tubular tires are less practical than clinchers for those of us not fortunate enough to have a support car with spare wheels following behind. Now, thanks to some diligent work by Campagnolo engineers, there will be no more reason to sacrifice performance for tire security as the Bora wheel family is now available in clincher version in addition to the tubular version seen in the pro-tour.
Maximum aerodynamics, extreme speed, incredible handling. The Bora(TM) One is sure to give you the utmost satisfaction in any situation. Even on the most challenging mountain curves.
Perhaps the most noticeable improvement will come in the form of a new, wider profile of the Bora rim.
Moving the width from 20,5mm to 24,2mm allowed engineers not only to improve upon aerodynamics but also to house wider tires.
The wider tires increase control as the contact area between tire and asphalt is increased, thus improving grip in addition to creating a more comfortable ride.
The new wider structure also represents an increase in structural strength, thus rendering the already universally lauded resistance and reliability of the Bora even more adept at handling any course or condition that presents itself on race day.
The wider structure aids in aerodynamics, increases structural integrity but also allows engineers to create a lighter version of the famed Bora wheel.
While the contrary might seem more likely, the larger profile of the Bora rim creates a stronger structure with less need for material intended for structural reinforcement.
Campagnolo is thus able to give increased structural integrity at a lower weight with regards to the rim.
The graphic application was also studied and a new method was utilized which allows Campagnolo to apply the logos via water transfer thus avoiding heavier adhesives.
This too represents a weight savings of nearly 15 grams in addition to a cleaner and more durable aesthetic quality.
Weight is further reduced thanks to a smaller profile front hub applied to this new Bora design.
Campagnolo engineers were able to reduce the weight and size of the hub while maintaining all of the performance characteristics of the previous version.
In other words, the same fantastic Bora performance in a smaller package.

Gorgeous, very smooth rolling Campagnolo Bora One! I really love these wheels. Such an awesome ride and lightened up my bike. It makes riding even more fun. I get compliments on my wheels all the time. And a fantastic price and timely shipping. Thank you PBK!!
I've been holding out on carbon clinchers for a long time. Early versions had problems with braking, heat dissipation and tire blow off. The latest engineering has gotten a handle on these issues as well as adopting wider and more crosswind friendly design. I had narrowed my choice between these and the Mavic Cosmic Carbone 40. I chose the Boras because of the lighter weight (1395g actual) and the great PBK price. I also have had a great experience with the Campagnolo G3 spoke pattern (Eurus and Zonda). They have been trouble free and stiff in the right places. The combination of these 24mm rims and Vittoria Corsa G+ 25mm tires work really well together. The cornering is sublime. The spin up is fast and they are quite comfortable at the 35mm depth. I did just put them through a great early test doing the Ride Across Wisconsin, 178 miles (287km) in light rain on very hilly roads. Cross wind effect was a non issue. The braking was on par or better than my aluminum wheels and much better than my old Zipp 404 tubulars.
awesome set pop wheels, never thought going from a generic wheel set to a Bora One would make such a difference, great product
So like many fellow cyclists, I too own many high end bikes and wheels. These are my first Boras. I chose the non-Ultra's as I just could not justify the additional cost of the Ultra's and I don't think most riders will benefit much from buying the Ultra's; the weight difference is nominal and durability of the bearings is yet to be proven by me. These wheels are exceptional. They spin-up / excel very fast and have a very nice feel. They also climb very well. I have yet to notice any lateral flex out of the saddle or on hard climbs and the ride is very good/smooth - even running 23mm tires. Aesthetically, these are simply beautiful wheels and the quality appears to be first rate. I only have a few hundred miles on them so far so durability is unknown. Given the incredible price at PBK, I don't know why anybody would spend more on other brands - except to save a very few grams.
