The Speedplay Zero Chrome-Moly Pedals boasts dual-sided entry, which allows you to simply step down and go. With a choice of micro-adjustable float or a fixed position, the pedals have three foot axis adjustments that can be set independently of one another, whilst the low stack height positions your foot closer to the top spindle for improved power transfer. Featuring a large, stable pedalling platform, the pedals give unbeatable cornering clearance and are designed to fit any shoe with a three or four hole mount. - L.M.

I started out with Look's entry level model and was always irritated by how often I needed to replace the cleats. So onward to Time which were much better for cleat use but the front locator on the pedal itself broke after a year or so.
So I moved on to Speedplay as I liked the double sided idea, something I am used to for MTB pedals. Makes it so much easier to clip in and really like how you can adjust the float to your own preference.
The cleats do need maintenance but so far have lasted longer than all previous pedal systems, so have to expect some.
The maintenance aspect and the fact that they squeak a bit when fitted to shoes with more sole curve on them means I only can give them a 4 star. Despite this they are still the best road pedal system I have used and are great to ride with.
I find the stack height and clearance advantages are not really noticeable for my club level racing status but I guess it helps confidence in that area.
If you are a weight weenie feel free to go for the higher level ones for more $ - but these are fine for me.
