I have tried various chains but the DA works the best for me. I am using it with a sram cassette
Fabulous chain has given me excellent performance once before and I expect the same from the new one I just bought. Had a poor experience with an Ultegra 10 speed chain, so I am back with the best. Quiet, clean shifting, super durable. Great price at Pro Bike kit too! Logan
The narrow design runs and shifts like butter, best price around.
I have owned a few Dura Ace 7901 chains. They last at least 3 times longer than the 105 or Ultegra chains. I received one chain in a plastic bag, but the next 2 I ordered came in original packaging. This is the best price I have ever seen on these chains.
Excellent chain.. Legendary Shimano Dura Ace quality.
So far so good only a couple of hundred miles on it and works great, can't give it 5 stars due to not sure how long it will last.
After my local bike shop indicated I needed a new rear cassette and chain I starting comparing the pricing and was very impressed with ProBikeKit. I read several reviews which suggested the combination of an Ultegra cassette and the Dura Ace chain produced great results. I placed my order and 10 days later it was on my doorstep at a significant savings from my local options. Both the cassette and chain were in original Shimano packaging and in excellent condition. They have now been installed and have made the shifting much smoother. Would highly recommend as long as you have the time to wait.
Chain was received on time and in manufactures box. Will buy from again.
one of the lightest chains available and incredibly durable. I've put nearly 10k miles on my first one. Although I don't check mine with a chain tool. I just run the chain for a couple seasons and replace the cassette and chain together. Always keep the chain and cassette matched. Rings get replaced every 3rd chain. No breaks yet in 30k miles.
Contrary to some reviewers, my CN-7901 Shimano Dura-Ace chain did come new in a box (NIB). PBK's holiday sale price is the best I've seen for this chain. I replaced my first CN-7901 at 3500 miles when trying to find the cause of some noise in my drive train. It still had less than 75% wear. The noise turned out to be worn bottom bracket cups (again). The CN-7901 is just fantastic. The most life I ever got on the CN-7801 Dura-Ace was 2800 miles. The most life I got on the equivalent Ultegra was 2500 miles. And I lube my chain at every 200 miles to maximize chain longevity and keep things running smoothly.
The Dura-Ace CN-7901 outperforms its predecessor, the Dura-Ace CN-7801. I changed my 7901 after 3500 miles with less than 75% wear because I was chasing a noise in my drive train that turned out to be worn bottom bracket cups. I never got more than about 2800 miles from a 7801 on the same bike measuring a full 75% wear using a chain wear tool. I always measure wear in several different spans along the chain.. I faithfully relube my chains every 200 miles. PBK sent my 7901 in the original Shimano box.
got the chain but havent had it installed yet---so ???
still have a few miles in the old chain, the new is to repalce when needed
like the title says only the best will do which is why I use dura-ace and shop PBK!!
Dura Ace 7901 chains are the best I have tried. They last at least 3 times longer than other chains. They shift well and are lightweight. The only reason I am giving them a 4 is that the packaging from ProBikeKit is not the original box packaging.
This is a chain that, after taxes in the US, costs about $100 its the top tier 10spd chain from shimano, meaning its their smoothest, stiffest and lightest chain for 10spd road systems. although this chain does have incredible durability, it does not last quite as long as an ultegra or 105 chain would, however it shifts much smoother and seems to move through the drivetrain with a lot more ease (whether you use shimano or sram). this is a hollow-pin chain because it is made to be as light as possible for racing and therefore has a slightly shorter lifespan. This chain paired with the 6700 cassette is probably the best chain/cassette combination out there for racing; its a combo that is both very high quality and very low budget. Once again, I'm super impressed with how low of a price probikekit can offer for such a top level product!
Not my first Dura-Ace chain but the first delivered in a plastic bag. No documentation or anything. Appears to be genuine but you have to wonder. This is a directional chain and it is important to have the labeled side of the chain facing away from the bike. You also need to know how to insert and break the connecting pin. Excellent price though.
I received both chains, in an appropriate amount of time. What concerned me though was that neither chain was in its Shimano box, simply a plastic bag. Assuming they're the correct chains, and they are Shimano's, but I would have preferred to get them in their respective boxes, as I'm assuming they're new. Otherwise, service has always been good.
Shimano Dura-Ace CN-7901 Bicycle Chain is the best deal ever!
