This is a very good cassette with excellent build quality. I would recommend this cassette for anyone who wants low gears.
Can't find a better price for the Ultegra 6700 cassette. Shipping a bit slow to the U.S., but we'll worth the wait. Great product, good shifting. Wonderful company.
Great buy as usual and great service
Have used 11-28 and 12-30 Tiagra, 105 and Ultegra cassettes on two bikes over the past few years. I definitely like the Ultegra cassette the best. Shifting performance definitely improved with the Ultegra cassette and the difference in weight in the driveline is noticeable. For the small price difference, Ultegra is definitely the way to go for a replacement cassette unless you're trying maintain a super tight budget.
Still using the original after 13,000 miles and 2 1/2 years. Know it should be replaced based upon that, but no sign of any necessity to do it yet.
This is a lower gearing then my last cassette and it makes a big differance. The cassette shifts smooth and quite, I have about 200 miles on it and found no problems.
It's a Shimano ultegra cassette so yeah its good! I got the 12-25 to replace my 11-25 and I really like it. Having the 16T is great and shifts smoother through the bottom. I really don't miss the 11T I just spin up the 12T and get in a tuck when going downhill and I am going about the same speed.
I've run ultegra cassettes for years and they are just asas good as dura ace but cost half the price. Smooth and quiet. Can't go wrong. PBK shipped it out fast and I received it in a reasonable amount of time considering I'm in the USA.
Awesome cassette that enables my legs to last much longer on climbs. I can now big ring a lot of things and no need for more shifting!
This is for sure a little piece of excellent engineering. It is substantially lightweight comparing it to the top of the line similar products. Easy to clean, very quit shifting operation… at a bargain price. Love it !!!
I love the smooth, fast and quiet shifting. It also runs very quiet. Overall a great product, especially at PBK's low price.
Living in the Prairie State of Illinois, it's more important to me to have a road cassette that lets me dial in my cadence than to have a wide range of gears or shave off the last few grams. The CS-6700 12-23 is one the few Shimano/Sram 10 speed road cassettes that includes an 18 cog, which turns out to be pretty important for performance and longevity. Each shift from 19 to 18 to 17 increases your workload by 5.5 to 6%. Moving from 19 to 17, you need to work nearly 12% harder for a single shift. More practically, your cadence at 20 mph changes by 10 rpm vs only 5 rpm with the 18. When you replace a cassette, it's usually due to the wear and tear on few, highly used cogs. Whether you run a standard (53t) or compact (50t) chaining, you'll spend a lot of time in the 17-19 range if you typically ride at 18-22 mph and pedal at 80-95 rpm. That 18 can extend the life of the cassette by reducing time spent in neighboring cogs. A trade-off to the tight cluster is losing the 11 cog. With a 50 tooth chainring, the 12 cog can get to about 33mph at 100 rpm. Rarely do I need more torque or speed than that. But for those occasional sprints and descents, the 11 would add another 3 mph at the same cadence, offering a bit more speed before spinning out. This Shimano cassette runs as smoothly as the SRAM PG-1070 on two of my bikes with otherwise Sram Rival drivetrains, so no compatibility problems. Overall, it's a great solution when finding the right rhythm is more important gearing up for climbing or racing
Nice step up from 5700. Clean shifts, quiet run. Best price & great service from PBK - as usual.
I think the Ultegra cassette is a great value compared with the more expensive cassettes. Keep a good chain on and change it out before it gets stretched and your cassette will last a long time.
Great product at excellent price. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the prolonged shipping time
With CN6701 this cassette is a great combo. Smooth/easy sailing with chain and shifters. I shouldn't have waited so long to upgrade. Thanks Probikekit for your prices too, nothing was close
This is one of the best all-round lightweight cassettes out there. The Ultegra cassette is more durable than the top of the line Shimano Dura Ace, and at a negligible weight penalty. Your price can't be beat. Thank you. Skyman
I have a Specialized Roubaix that came with Shimano Ultegra components. The original cassette was a 12-27 that I got used to. When it was time to replace it, I couldn't find this gear ratio. However, the 11-28 was widely available. I am loving this new cassette! It matches up nicely with the cassette on the front. I only drop down into the 28 when I really need the low gear on a nasty climb, probably because I was used to a 27. The 11 on the bottom is fantastic. I don't spin out when at high speed trying to push over rollers or staying in a high-speed pace line. Overall I give this cassette top rating.
This ultegra cassette not only gave me the correct size and quality performance over my old shimano hyper glide cassette , but what makes me be totally satisfied with my purchase is that I'm saving around 100 gr . I appreciate it so much , thank you probikekit
The 11-23 combo is perfect for the flat roads I ride in FL. Ultegra is easy to install and very smooth shifting. I haven't seen cassettes at this low a price, an excellent value, maybe because 11 speed is becoming the new standard. I bought a couple to get me through the next 30,000 miles and am considering a second order. Just a note: it might take a while to receive yours although mine arrived just a day after the estimated delivery date. Don't wait until the last minute.
Great tech and value in this cassette. Recommended.
It was time to change out my Shimano 105 cassette, so I decided to upgrade to an Ultegra. I had one on my Trek and it work good. I have installed this one on my new carbon wheels. I haven't tested it yet, but I know it will performed good.
It's an excellent cassette for training , and racing , specially for the flats of South Florida area . Light , robust , and the best price in the world here .
You can always count on the Shimano products to be a great product and Probike to deliver at a great price. Thanks
This cassette is strong, shifts quickly and quietly when properly tuned. The weight savings over Dura-Ace is not going to be felt (certainly there are better ways to save weight--like put less water in your water bottle. Amazing value for the price and rock solid.
Upgrading my travel bike to account for mountainous destinations and advancing age. Wanted a 30 sprocket, so bought a longer cage derailleur and this CS 6700. Works wonderfully, and I'd definitely recommend it.
If you are riding a Shimano 10-speed drivetrain then this is pretty much the best cassette you can get. It comes with a 1.86 mm spacer so that the cassette can also be mounted on wheels designed for 11-speed cassettes. Easy to mount.
I ordered this cassette for a friend who had some seriously-worn cogs on his old Ultegra 6700 cassette on his race wheelset. New cassette + new chain = crisp shifting again. PBK's price was unmatched, and delivery was on-time.
After my local bike shop indicated I needed a rear cassette and chain I starting comparing the pricing and was very impressed with ProBikeKit. Placed my order and 10 days later it was on my doorstep at a significant savings from my local options. Both the cassette and chain were in original Shimano packaging and in excellent condition. They have now been installed and have made the shifting much smoother. Would highly recommend as long as you have the time to wait.
Great product in original packaging and came on time. Thanks ProBikeKit for great service.
Ultegra is an incredible bang for your buck and lasts forever. This cassette gives you a few extra teeth for the steep hills here in Colorado, shifts perfectly, and you never have to think about it.
Bulletproof! I'm not sure why you'd go to Dura Ace on this kind of part. Not a component you want to shave weight on. I run Ultegra or 105 on all my bikes and they wear very well and last. Good value for the money.
I purchased this cassette for two reasons. . . 1. I needed an additional cassette for my backup wheelset 2. I LOVE having 12-30 gearing! I chose this cassette because of it's weight (12-30 is 270g) my Tiagra 12-30 was over 340g. It shifts very smoothly but my rear deraileur needed adjusted slightly. Not sure why considering they were both the same exact gearing? If you haven't tried 12-30 gearing yet, you will probably love it. I have rather strong legs but the object is to work smarter, not harder on those ridiculous climbs. I could have went with a Sram 11-32 but I would have felt like a school girl spinning a 32 teeth cog :) Great Shimano quality, decent weight, excellent price, attractive ratios. Try one out!
These are the ideal compromise of weight vs. durability for a cassette for the recreational rider. 30 tooth gear on this cassette is a great ace in the hole if the hills get too steep or the rider too tired. These were provided as loose parts in a plastic bag like OEM parts would be packaged. This was not stated in the description but at the low price they were offered at, I would have purchased them anyhow. Missing the box is no big deal, but I like to have the plastic center piece to stack the pieces on after I wash them and before transferring them back to the freehub. If you have a 10 speed Shimano drive train this Ultegra cassette is a great deal that won't hinder performance.
I have Dura Ace equipment on my road bike and SRAM force and rival mix on my cross bike and on both, when the cassettes needed replacing, I tried the Ultegra level cassette. As compared to the Dura Ace option, the Ultegra is much better value. It is nearly as light, and appears to last a little longer in use. For my SRAM group, oddly, I find the Ultegra cassette shifts more smoothly but that could be because my bike could have been spec'd had a lower spec SRAM cassette. This cassette is a great piece that is a solid value and the performance is also very good.
Put it on right after I got it. A 35 miles ride tells everything. I went uphill without any problem. Did not use too much power as before. This can help me to take easy on my knee which I am having problem now. Love it and will get another one for my other bike. Will have a hilly ride this weekend and I believe this new cassette resolves my problem.
I must say with all sincerity, this is the best cassette I have bought since The Eagles, The Long Run! Ride on Brotha's!
Nice add on to be able to spin up climbs. After all how many leg presses do you have per day? The body is a much more efficient cardio machine than it is muscular. Spinning is winning, I threw this cassette 12x28 on my race bike and I dig the extra climbing gears. If you were concerned about the top end and needed an 11 tooth, you could always swap it out. Works with my normal sized rear derailleur.
I've been using Shimano Ultegra components on my bikes for the last 15+ years. I've never had a component related failure. With regular cleaning and lubrication I have been able to get in excess of 10,000 miles on an Ultegra cassette before I noticed a significant drop-off in performance. I don't have a bottomless bank account, so I chose to go with the modestly priced Ultegra component group over the Dura-Ace. Yes, the Ultegra is a bit heavier, and the finish detail is not as sexy but it's every bit as performance oriented and reliable as the Dura-Ace for much less money. And over the years Shimano seems to trickle down technology and design features from Dura-Ace to Ultegra and even 105 so that the differences become less noticeable. For the price that PBK sells this cassette it was an absolute no-brainer for me. I bought an 11-28 to compliment my 12-25 and provide more gearing options for the rides with significant elevation gain !
1. Great price from Probikekit as always. 2. Light weight and has the right combination 11-28 to go with my compact crank 34/50. Without this, I wouldn't be able to get to the ski lift at Mount Baldy in southern California. Overall, it is a great cassette to have on days where you have long climbing ahead.
Found the 12-30 ratio for my climbing helps. Excellent cassette. Shipping is ok speed but a little hairy with no tracking international.
This cassette is perfect for both racing and training. its durable and has great longevity while being stiff, smooth, and light. its also a great upgrade if you are currently running a 105 cassette. Definitely a must have for this price.
Bought this cassette to provide me with a few more options on hillier rides. Performs great!
As the lady friend added road cycling to her biking repertoire, she missed the uber low gearing of her mountain bike. Even the compact/28 tooth cog left her feeling strained on some of the bigger hills in the area. After a determination the rear 105 derailleur could support the larger 30 tooth cog, the change was academic with a slight readjustment f the 'B' screw and was well received (if only the psychological benefit.) Personally, while there is a quality and weight enhancement moving from the 5700 to 6700 cassette, I personally like the gear spacing better . . . so much so I changed out the 12-27 on my 'cross bike with this cassette (total order of 3 cassettes.) For me, it provides the better ratio steps to 27 teeth with a 'bail-out' 30 for old guys like me in the sand and deep mud. Shimano quality, great price, and problem solved.
I am in the process of replacing the drivetrain's critical (and worn) components on our road tandem and, for the cassette, rather than replace-in-kind, I chose the Ultegra 12-30T cassette. That because the 30T big cog will make riding around in the mountains of Western North Carolina a lot more pleasant! That benefit on top of a great price and on-time delivery, Thanks!
Excellent cassette. No need for Dura Ace.
I run this cassette on all of my bikes. Best value, especially for the price at PBK. Shifting is butter, and durability outlasts all the hours of riding.
This cassette performs fantastically! It was exactly what I needed, and a great upgrade from the old, worn out 105 Cassette I had on my CX bike. Great price, too!
The Shimano Ultegra CS-6700 Bicycle Cassette works as expected, great for hills, easy on flats. I would buy again, best price anywhere, will continue to buy from PBK.
I ride on all Dura Ace components except for the cassette and chain which I typically ride on Ultegra 6700/6701. They are more cost effective and the quality is just the same, ie, quality in shifting, etc. The weight saving won't help you go any faster.
